Instant death from blood plague glitch?

I am playing on lethal zone, and was just doing the mechanic enclave mission for starting up the generator.

Juggernaut came, and I stand inside the garage since I found out jug cant enter the garage, and jug just coming for me, making npc safe to attack the jug.

Then all of a sudden, my blood plague meter just ramp up fast, and my character just die afterward when the meter is full.

I am sure all doors are close at that moment leaving only the front gate which cant be close (but jug cant enter), I am in the middle of the garage, it has big open space so its easy to observe my surrounding. I dont find any bloater, I dont hear any exploding bloater either. But the way I die, it seems like there is an invisible bloater explode beside me.

Is it a glitch?

Thanks. After calming down, I decide to tackle lethal mode 1 more time. Asking for some tips here, Haven't play for a long time, before lethal mode even released.

I am going fresh, random survivors with no legacy boon. My question is, how do I tackle the PH early game? In late game, I can sorta cheese it with drone strike + sniper support, but with the new update of plague territories, if there's an outpost I really like early on I need to clear the PH 1st without those. Hell, even the base I want to move into got occupied by 4 PH. Should I tackle them early on, or leave them alone till I have better equipment (But good items are so hard to find in lethal)?

It's going to be hard. Attacking a PH on lethal will spawn at least 1 blood feral, maybe 3. PH on lethal take a ton of hits, and blood ferals see through scent block. I have played off and on since release on MS store and even with resources and people, Lethal is kicking my butt. I am not the greatest player to be sure, so if you are really good at the game maybe you can pull it off.

Thanks for the encouragement. However, In my previous community that I deleted, I only destroy 1 PH. I didn't got any feral spawn. Perhaps it was early in game?

And you said Blood feral see through scent block? God that's even more scary, will definitely panic when it spawn lol.

1 thing I notice is that for the building which PH occupied, I will open the door, then immediately back away from the building. Because seconds later I enter the building, zombies start spawning before my eyes.

best took all the auto grenade launcher ( bml 40 ) you can and kill all the hearts,

advice... in lethal one magazine of 12 grenades are not enough, you need 13 grenades to take down a heart, so, the best, its damage with the main gun before sending all the grenade magazine, when you reach a plague heart all effort should be destroy the heart, if you go backward chances are zeds and ferals keep spawning from dynamic spawn,

Hmm, don't know what is a bml40, maybe I have been away for too long and just recently come back for update 25.

In my previous community, the way I destroy the 1st & only PH (very ill equipped as I am still early) is:

Sneak into the building, lure all the zed out since they spawn the moment I enter. Clear them outside building then sneak in again. Throw bomb + molotov, shoot with pistol, trigger the 1st PH pulse.

Run outside again, then come back and stealth kill all the zed PH summoned. This time using hunting crossbow since I have no other ammo, trigger 2nd PH pulse.

Rinse and repeat, then for the last time, I melee the PH to conserve whatever ammo I have and finally destroyed the PH. It took about 20-30 min, I think?

in the builder end mission at some stage you will under attack from 3 people at your hq, its the legacy i do more because sometimes 2 always 1 of those folks come with 1 bml 40, so make sure to loot the corpses after killing them, there are not other way, but always guaranteed its 1 x bml 40, usually i use in legacy inventories between 4 to 6 that grenade launcher at full capacity for the next run, its great stack of grenades, you will need the heavy duty ammo press to craft 40 mm grenades,

I'll have to get my hands on one of those. My current campaign I had switched maps and changed difficulty from Nightmare to Lethal so I am fairly well equiped. My first PH I had a single shot grenade launcher w/ 8 40mm grenades, 4 thermite hand grenades and a scent block. It stood up to all 8 and two thermite before a blood feral grabbed me from behind. I was stealthed and scent blocked too. Luckily I had a fence between me and my vehicle which bought me a second to get in. He still managed to take a door before I got away.

ferals are the highest threat of all game, you can fool a jugernaut pack but its not easy to fool a feral pack, some mods set feral packs to 9 - 12 ferals making fighting they a real nightmare, usually i avoid them if i can, no if i are attacking a plague heart,
