On the flip side, facility slots for beds provide potentially fewer units than upgraded farms or gardens. For example, taking the large slot, a fully upgraded barracks provides -- what is it? -- six beds? A fully upgraded farm with a compost bin and boosting yields cranks out something like twice the units as the barracks. (Assuming you have the requisite community skills to upgrade those facilities.) So on that point Sleep Psychology wins.
It's not terrible for sure. Beds are a nice commodity not to have to worry about. Sleep Psychology is definitely better than many quirk traits, although I prefer the ones that boost survivor stats such as stamina or health or injury/infection resistance.
EDIT: many, many of the community skills are far more crucial than any quirk skills. Munitions, Surgery, Auto Mechanics, Agriculture (or one of the utilities skills to enable hydroponic garden), even Nutrition, are extremely valuable.
EDIT: I'm doing Lethal zone, the easier the level you play, the less the 5th skill will matter. End of the day do what makes you happy.
so although fishing is kind of crap late game its pretty decent early. same with lichenology, its nice early so you're not on a clock with medicine.
overall i think the best bonus if you can get it is a lichenologist that has -25% food for the community. that's 1 guy generating like 6 units of resource on lethal
Scrum Certification, Lichenology and Recycling are all better choices than Sleep Psychology. But it's quite nice if you don't have to build a bed facility or establish a safehouse Outpost.
Agriculture, Nutrition, Automechanics, Pathology, Pharmacology and Programming I see as the six essentials. Then Munitions and Electronics provide high-end production options. The four others are then open to flavour, style and convenience. Scrum halves building and production times, while Lichenology and Recycling nullifies upkeep. The fourth quirk skiller could then easily be Sleep Psychology. Or Sewing, or Plumbing for the Stamina boost and access to Latrine 2 morale boost.
