They really need to fix the just reverse over everything mechanic. Pop the gas tank, flat tires, i dunno.
i don't like that either and don't stand on them, it's a really easy fix.
I want to be able to stand on them, to a point... they should be safe for a bit. And then.... uh oh... BOOM. So you gotta move off. And a burned out one should just be climbeable (is that a word?) by the zeds, but not instantly. Always have roof tops and containers, but I like how the fast zombies get on to the containers eventually.
IMO the wildones (can't believe I forgot their names- only played this and 1 since release) oughta be able to just scamper up ladders to rooftops too. That would be intense.
The devs are already working on SoD 3 which should come soon enough. My only hope is that they will improve and do better.
On the other hand, despite it's flaws, SoD2 still has great stuff like the maps, the looting system, the community system, etc...
I play on the highest level and at that level I want it to be fair game that I use *any* and all strategies available to me within the game. This is about the last strategy I use that feels cheesy that isn't flat out cheating (which I don't do).
Those three difficulty slider bars can help to change the game dynamics for some of the things that are bothering people. Have you tried adjusting those to tune the game more to your liking? I have not experimented with them myself, I just play with everything turned all the way up.
In my opinion, I don't think that any of the regular zombies or plague zombies should have the strength to climb over anything at all. I think only the ferals should be strong enough to do that. The regular zombies should be a lot less dangerous, in my opinion. They should act more like the slow walking zombies you see on the Walking Dead. Then they can get crazy with the freak zombies and make them do unbelievable things like climbing over, sprinting, and leaping. The regular zombies should only be able to enter your base through doorways or gaps that extend all the way to the ground so that they don't have to climb over anything. We should be able to have that advantage over regular zombies. The freaks should be different.
At the end of the day, this game isn't living to it's full potential. It could be better in many many ways. That doesn't mean the actual product isn't fun to play. It just mean that anyone interested to do so should keep their expectations in check. Keep in mind that it's a console port.
I've enjoyed the game despite it's pitfalls. There's some elements here that I would like to see in my "dream zombie survival game" so kudos to the devs for being bold enough to tread on unknown grounds and innovate.
I am playing in Drucker County right now at a water tower. There is an infestation inside the utility shed that is next to the tower. As you all know, the water towers have the tallest ladders in the game. There is a way for the zombies to defeat the "climb the ladder to safety" strategy. The screamers force your character to let go of the ladder and you fall off when they scream close to you while you are attempting to climb up the ladder. I tested this tonight. They can successfully knock you off the ladder even before you can climb 15 feet. They keep doing this over and over and you are forced to do something else besides climb that ladder. You have to deal with the screamer(s) before you try to climb a water tower ladder.
Just wait untill you have played some lethal, you'll be happy to stand on the cars i'm sure, it's already more than intense enough as it is trust me :)
Those pesky ferals combined to anything else is just a nightmare for anyone really pro or not.
I would personally just change one thing >> bloodferals = 1 headshot dead in stead of the ridiculous 3 which is impossible when you have 3 coming at you as of now, at least we'd have a small chance to survive :D
I only play lethal. That's why I wanted the extra challenge.
What a joke of an attitude. It was a suggestion.
Reminder, forum's aren't real life. You can turn away and not read them. You can avoid that unpleasant elevated heart rate feeling. You CAN walk away and go pet your dog.
The reason they dont let them is the AI pathing isnt good enough on small platforms. Zombies get on top of a car and stare into space, ferals would get stuck in the running animation or something.
Brant joked about "turning it all back on without telling anyone" just for the laughs. lol it would cause chaos thats for sure
I think in this case with the Ai pathing its more a limit on the UE 4.13 engine? Obvs the console cpu and memory limits cant be helping.
