But yeah this game isn't very customisable, it's just enough to spark an interest but not enough to be an RPG (as it isn't an RPG).
Regarding outposts I tend to do them in positions where I am looting in (makes it quicker to shove all the rubbish you get into a locker and heading back when you fill up the car with rucksacks.)
Other than that it's whatever you are low on or want to do.
I tend to do resources in early game and by mid game I do radio cooldown towers. But I tend to keep one outpost (usually food) to off-set the loss of that.
You also want to farm survivors, they are an unlimited resource. By using your radio command plus random encounter missions you can get pretty good survivors out there. I tend to first go with whatever survivor, then I sift through them by
a) if they have a bad bonus
b) bad traits that are not manageable
c) after, any with red traits unless they have a super good bonus.
d) however, if I get a good bonus with all green traits, c) survivors are for the chop.
I dismantle, at first, the enclaves with poor bonuses. Then I dismantle the ones with semi good, then (if I get there) good ones. But as you roll them in every 30 minutes using the radio command, you will get plenty of bad bonuses. I also usually decline doing the still missions with that special enclave (the moonshine one) as they go on a bit but also you can recruit all 3 of them if you decline their mission without them getting annoyed with you. (The ex prisoners tend to just try and kill you for instance if you turn them down.)
Of which the best are below (in my understanding)
MEAL PLAN HERO BONUS
Always Packed a Lunch
Eats Like a Bird
Former Model
Had Older Brothers
Lives on Pasta
Loved Fast Food
Meal Delivery Driver
Ran a Bed & Breakfast
Soup Kitchen Volunteer
GOOD TRAITS
Unbreakable
Blood Plague Survivor
Hard to Kill
Incredible Immune System
Never Been Sick
HERO BONUS
Tough Negs
I also always have this open on my other screen.
