You favorite vehicle ?
Hey guys,

This is both in regard to whatever you fancy the most and it's usefulness. If you like driving it but it ain't helping you play then it shouldn't be ranked number 1. It might be your number one but that's personal and isn't very useful for other players.

For me, the one that stand tall above all others is :
The SmashWagon

- 7 slot cargo, above average, amazing
- Good fuel consumption
- Very nice driving. A bit on the drifty side sure but it's easy enough to contol with a healthy mix of brake and handbrake depending on whatever you're trying to do.
- Very durable
- 4 protected seats
- Great on road as well as off road handling and passability, almost nothing will get you stuck.
- The base vehicle is already great before your upgrade it being amongst the better unupgraded vehicles.
- Looks really cool. Yeah, subjective but really, it looks almost like an armored SUV would pre-apocalypse.

Only downside would be the noise which can be mitigated in various ways.

It really has it all. The Smashwagon is just truly amazing on both an aesthetic, practical and performance point of view.

A great second choice would be :
The Hellion

- 6 slot cargo, average
- Low noise
- Small profile, easy to manoeuvre around obstacles
- Good fuel consumption
- 4 protected seats
- Easy to drive on and off road
- Great passability for a small car

Downsides would be it's not that durable. It's kinda ugly once upgraded. Added stuff doesn't look like it would protect the passenger much. It doesn't turn as well while off road.

Honorable mention :
Kaiser - It would be my second choice if not for the small trunk size of 4. To me, losing 2 slots needs to be justified. While the Kaiser is better in most regard to the hellion it can't justify that smaller cargo capacity. A pleasurable car to have for when you're established and there is no rush anymore.

There's a lot of other vehicles I could mention most of which would be mentioned not because they're better than the top 1 or 2 vehicle above but because they have a special ability that would justify their use. Something like the Police Cruiser siren or the Cargo Van 8 slot trunk. Although, keep in mind, those advantages are truly useful only in specific situations while the above mentioned vehicle are useful all around no matter what you're doing.

Your turn people.

Smashwagon for general use. Good cargo capacity, good protection, good fuel economy, good driving, just all around good.

Big Boss for specific zombie-smashing missions. Honk the horn then run them all over.

Survey Car for its specific-purpose use. Great for getting an overview of an area.

I spend most of my actual playtime driving a Pilato / Pilato CR / Ranger SUV though. Until I get the upgrade kit.

Wichita ES for EDC, Burninator for Rescue Ops or SHTF.

This is me as well. Smashwagon gets beat by the Wichita ES for me for nearly all occasions. It has all the advantages of the Smashwagon but much better gas mileage and is easier to maneuver. Burninator sometimes is one I have used for occasions where I know I need to deliberately go into large groups and make sure I burn em all. It also is great off-road vehicle in for instance, Drucker County.

Only one - Survey car :steamhappy:

General purpose: Whichita ES (better handling than the Smashwagon)

Plague Heart duty: Impaler (zombies can't grab the hood)

Off-road/Rare Weapons Case duty: Burninator

Scouting duty: Survey Car

Wichita ES & Burninator are two vehicle I haven't found yet. I guess they're simply not on my current map. I'll look into it.

As for the Impaler, I understand a lot of player use that vehicle as a throw away vehicle because it can kill Zs with it's spike in certain conditions. I felt the spike did one hell of a lousy job though. I guess the only worthwhile spikes are the one on the back so you need to go backward into stuff. Anyway, I know the car works per se and you can use the spikes a bit. Sure, it's practical you can spawn it anywhere too. Anyway, if you don't mind paying the cost then yes you can spawn a disposable car and go ram stuff.

You can get Burninator ordered and delivered through your Radio Commands under Independence Pack.

You should go backward into stuff with all cars, especially on higher difficulties.

for non upgraded Brogan Trekker, it has as much space as the cargo vans but it is much faster with better fuel economy
for upgraded ones i would say the Trail Beast is good

Why no love for the Viking?

It's a bit slow and doesn't really have that good fuel economy and range. Otherwise it's nice enough.

It's a not best, not worst option for all relevant parameters.

Armor: medium
Speed: slow
Acceleration/handling: a bit sluggish, making it difficult to shake off zombies and whirl around 180 degrees.
Luggage space: 6 (i.e. in the middle between 3 and 9)
Ground clearance & wheel size: in the middle between the donor car and Burninator/Trumbull 4X4
Fuel consumption and fuel capacity (range): poorest of the 3 vehicles with fuel drums - the Pilato might have better range, for instance
Special abilities: none

Bit like asking "what's your favourite Record" - It depends.
Fun fact - According to the achievements Log (which we know is Wonky) only 29% of players have put Armour on their cars.
