1. Must have it selected as it's current used weapon. So you have to jump on that character and switch to it.
2. Weapons are used based on their first setting than what you have it set on the character. Ex:
Single > Burst/Semi Auto > Full Auto; The single will always be used first. Only a hand full of weapons in the game has Full Auto only. Like the FBI rifle from the bounty. I put that on my survivors. One with a Devru.
If you ask why I use the FBI weapon, because it has a color on it instead of the typical black/grey. Is it the better or the best full auto only primary weapon? Idk.
I use no mods and never have. If you use mods it's most likely a mod that causes that behavior for you since "vanilla" game works just fine.
The Dillinger has 20 bullets in the magazine, and the NPCs fire 5 times before reloading, meaning that each pop is really 4 bullets. The G18 Custom Auto works the same way; they reload it after 10 shots. The RTX Rampart has 9 bullets in the magazine, and needs to be reloaded after 3 "shots".
You can tell by the damage done as well. With an Advanced Brake, one guy with a G18 Custom Auto kills a Juggernaut on Lethal with something like 12-13 "shots", or a little over twice the amount of rounds needed with a .50 rifle while being 9mm.
Yes the sound is off and it has been like this since 2018. However, it isn't exactly the same as a single-fire shot either. It is "longer" than a single-fire sound, and the muzzle flash also lasts longer. So basically, these guns have a very fast fire rate and the developers haven't managed to make a good enough burst fire sound for these guns in particular. The only pistol calibre full-auto gun that sounds right is the Raider's Uzi 22. EDIT: in the hands of NPCs
