Gained a boon, but... where is it and how to use it?
I just finished my first campaign with Sheriff and so it gave me a boon... I moved to the next map, but I'm not sure what exactly I gained or where to find it?

Maybe I should note, that I did demote the sheriff on the new map, cause I want the achievement for the other professions too :D Did it maybe disappear because of this?

I also tested starting a new game, thinking I would be selecting boons there, but that is also a no...

Thanks!

The Boons can be activated once you start a new community.

They only work for the same difficulty you won it in, or lower.

Ah so that's why I didn't spot it, I started in a higher difficulty... Thanks! I'll test it, to see if it works :)

You can kind of cheese some of the boons by starting on a lower difficulty with something like the Trader Boon (giving the Influence boost) and then moving to a new map on a harder difficulty; since the reward was a one-time donation that stays with the Community.

I'm pretty sure you lose them if you don't have them unlocked on the difficulty you're switching to.

Yup I have just read that boons only work on the difficulty you unlock them on...

That said... I've moved to lethal ;) Impatient me says "hi!"

Wait, are Boons automatically applied or do you physically have to activate them somewhere? I haven't been manually activating them if that's the case(!)

I didn't go further than spotting them when I went for "new game". I did not check whether you had to actively activate them or not... That said, they only work when you start a new community, 100% for sure. So I assume they are not active for you ;)

Currently I'm just going to try and rush those boons on lethal, and then start a proper community. Not sure if I have to kill all the hearts tho... I would assume so, otherwise it would be too easy :D

I nearly died to one yeh... usually I never equip a main weapon while scavenging. Luckily I just looted a loaded rifle :o Going from green to lethal is no joke :D

I have some experience from the past tho, I just bought this game on steam sale, but I played it a lot on the xbox app with my free sub. I loved it, hence I bought it :) I just can't remember a lot of the mechanics, so I'm here like a newb on the forum :D

Ferals are the only real challange tho, If I go lower difficulty it's just a base management game.

Edit: I changed my mind... I guess it's best to farm up some guns and explosives in easier modes ;) Just killed a plague heart... everything was quiet, looted it... and then a feral jumped me out of nowhere... dead.

There is another option, use the sliders in game options, I have green boons on Dread, I set the community to green, and the map difficulty to Dread, this enables me to have base wide water and power, whilst "dreading" hahabaha, having the community on Green, also means I can play it very part time, since don't have to worry about Morale an such.
