Why is there a "threaten enclave" option?
I honestly don't understand why this button is in the interaction options, and why it is single click! I called in an enclave, aimed to trade with them, go to do so and bam! threaten enclave. 150 influence gon' and now i gotta fight them too.

If the game devs insist on having this, please make it a 5 second click and hold to perform the function.

Three reasons:
1. Remove unwanted Enclaves on the map immediately
2. Remove Enclaves on the map when there's too many so you can actually get missions to start showing up again
3. To get their loot

I'd 100% prefer it there than to not be there for a whole lot of reasons, but "hold button to select choice" should be how it works specifically for Threaten.

I've never personally hit it by accident as I don't sprint through dialogue options, but I know a lot of people do hit it.
There's not really any reason why it would be better to not have it be a "hold to select" instead of a single click; nobody is going through Enclaves fast enough that having to hold a button for like 3 seconds to threaten would be bad.

You can kill them off with Zombait without threatening them, but you can't kill them by damaging them yourself.

Maybe Bloater Gas Grenades is an exception. Haven't tried.

If you are looking for survivors with a specific skill which they don't have wipe them out to spawn new ones. Or if they become demanding while offering nothing

I've tried it before, but it worked about as well as throwing a molotov at them: it seemingly didn't given none of their health values changed even after several gas grenades.

Hell, if anything, a molotov still works better if you toss it at zombies around them so the fire on the zombies burns the ♥♥♥♥ out of them instead of the fire you created itself doing no damage.

Maybe this devious plan would have worked:

1. Call in a lot of zombies against a neutral enclave while Scentblocked with Zombait
2. Throw a bunch of Bloater Gas Grenades at the enclave
3. Then throw molotovs at the zombies, setting them on fire (but far enough away from the gas to not have the molotovs set off the explosion)
4. Then the zombies run into the gas while on fire, so that it is THEM igniting the gas.
5. Profit.

I kinda wish if you got them up to ally level you could just ask them to leave town if you don't want them around anymore. Maybe just a "Leave town" choice and they say "we're moving on to a new area here's some stuff we can't carry with us" heh but a delayed click would be nice to avoid accidental choices.

They framework around the talking but doesnt realy support holding a button. or some such thing.

But Ive always thought making the threaten enclave a two part conversation should be doable?

Like
1. you threaten,
2. they break the convo saying something like "come at me bro!"
3. you then have to threaten them again before it becomes permenant.

I dont know maybe it spawns a mission like "talk more ♥♥♥♥" with a short timer like less than a minute before the status resets.

Whatever it is it absolutely should be more than an errant click

Omg I just did threaten a friendly enclave because I thought the bottom dialog option is Trade with them! FML

why not try rush and click what you want?

Few survivalists have not made this mistake and some will repeat it. You need to level up your own discipline skill in this situation when the menu appears. A simple calculation will show how much time & resources were wasted for an expensive mistake.
