Multiplayer - Players still tethered?
I bought this originally on release on Microsoft Store. I didn't like how in Multiplayer your online partner would be tethered to you by distance so they couldn't do their own thing. Is it still the same case now or has it changed?

Ok thank you :)

Can you remember how long the tether generally is? it's not annoyingly short or anything before it drags you back to the host?

Unfortunately it's a pretty short radius you basically have to do the same things to stay together, quite annoying, hopefully we get a true multiplayer coop in the the third installment of the game.

strange thing is that they still release updates and could fix this a thousand times, there's a considerable feedback from players

the fix for this was suggested 4 years ago on SOD2 website. Might as well login and vote.

it wasnt doable for them then and its not now. they have the same crossplatform memory limits as before on an ancient engine.

that tether circle isnt a multiplayer circle, thats where the host stops rendering the game, even in single player. since theres no servers the hosts and clients have to have completely synced data. Because of the crossplatform drop in multiplayer, that means the games stuck using 6GB of ram for the user space, forever.

just saying a thing doesnt make it feasible

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
