other games like State of Decay?

Are there other community based online co-op survival games like State of Decay out there?

Preferably something with a zombie theme, but not something toxic like DayZ or Rust. Asking for a female friend who likes easy co-op games.
(Something easy to jump into and jump out of with minimal frustration.)

7 days to die. Although that's more a survival game like ARK. But it's ddefinitly a Zombi-Apokalyplse-Game. (TBH: it's one of my least favorite survival-games, though. And it's in Early Access ever since... AND: I doubt that it will ever get out of EA...)

I'm talking a survival game where you control a community of characters, not 1 character who can respawn whenever they die.

Early on you will be pretty weak for example a night stalker will be pretty much a death sentence as you start if you can't run away from one.

But by end game I can fight off a 100 of them without getting a scratch.

DL and also Dead Island are fun to play, but not in the kind of SoD 1 or 2.

im generally thinking u guys are right: the community theme is specific to State of Decay. I just wish this game wasn't so boring.

I personally loved dying light 2 after the update around april-may

They brought the combat back in line with Dying light 1
Guns are making a comeback next year and has been hinted by NPCs in game

Project Zomboid is a banger if you can get past the graphic style, it has some of the best systems in any zombie game. Also Rimworld is a really good community themed game but not really a zombie game.

Camera rotation will never happen for Zomboid
It is an isometric game

Also if no one can connect you are likely using a whitelisted server
Which means only people who are invited first can connect
Also search containers won't be a thing because they want to have a sense of "urgency"
Though they are planning on improving the interaction UI

The rest of the stuff is somewhat accurate though

who cares ? if i play singleplayer and i want to shoot zombies with my guns am i not alowed to have that option ? becouse guns where there in Dyinglight1 if i wanted stealth yeah i go bow or meele and go full quite but if i want to go just gun BLAZING let me just do that its options to the player i shud not be FORCED becouse some of you stealth people just want stealth when i dont even impact your own game

so that the reason i will always hate Dying light 2 becouse of them removeing the guns all from the game i wont have mind theywhere rare and hard to make ammo but atleast i have the option still

Project Zomboid is THE zombie apocalypse survival game. Nothing else compares.

3 Things
1. Guns coming back next year ( it was supposed to be this year but update post poned )
2. There is a shotgun in Dying light 2
3. If you ally with Peacekeepers you get a Rapidfire Crossbow

If you want the lore reason why there are no guns ( you find out by reading a statue and talking to a mysterious NPC on the roof )

After the events in Harran and when the new city fell.
The military took over Villedor and removed everyones guns and then hid them in containers. They also built walls to isolate the city. Yet somehow the infection got inside into the core.

Everyone who knew the location of the containers is dead except for 2 people.

There also is a gun in Dying light 2
The Boomstick which is a shotgun.

It is one of the highest DPS weapons in the game.

Also the Gore cameback with the Gut Feeling Update months ago.
There was also a 2nd gore update after that

So gore is now higher than Dying light 1 levels
