True Grit unlocks if I stared on Standard and then change to Dread?

Not sure if was already answerd but here is the thing: If you start a community on "Standard" difficulty and move into another map, for example, on day 20 with the same community but this time on "Dread" or "Nightmare", I assume that the achievement won't pop if the day counting hit 100, but what about when that hits 120 days? Can you still get the achievement or you need to start a new fresh community on "Dread" and wait until the counter reach 100 days?

the timer for the achievement starts when you switch to dread or higher
so if you switch on day 20 you need to go to 120

This actually happened to me. I'm not sure which difficulty I started with but eventually corrected it to Dread for the achievement. I thought it bugged or I f'ed up at day 100, but at day 104 I got the True Grit Achievement (I assume I changed the difficulty at day 4).

Well I hope that happens to me as well bc i'd prefer to fight close combat with 5 plague jugg that spend another 100 days of time game
