why is there still red mist around my camp?

I got rid of the red thing I got rid of 3 green things but theres still red mist around my camp and a crap ton of green symbol zombies.

p.s googled and found nothing. Maybe I'm wording it wrong but I dont know state of decay lingo.

are you referencing the minimap?

youll want to climb a nearby cell tower or billboard and survey the area. thatll find the plague heart

I've done this. I'm at the second base the game takes you. Gone to all the towers with binoculars but no plague heart. I'm on day 8 now and theres like green symbol zombies all over my base now. I'm not sure if thats normal or a glitch. I heard someone say on a reddit post it could be a glitch.

On the big map it shows the red mist area around my base. I've droven all around in the red area but can't find a plague heart. There is the mission called seize territory or whatever I'm not sure if thats what I need to do to clear up the red mist. I thought the red goes away when you destroy the heart nearest your base.

If you mean just a fin red color on your map, then that just means that a zombie population there is high. To add to that, if you have zombie horde, freak surround your base, that's normal. If none is true, it would be best for you to provide a screenshot of what you're facing.

My map was full of those roaming green symbol special zombies but when I logged on this morning they seem to have cleared up. I'm not sure if the longer you play the more special types of zombies will show up. I had 3 of those big ones walking around my base yesterday.

Also I didnt know that about the red area zones. I thought destroying a plague heart kind of clears up the red area on the map.

This is normal, your base and outposts gives you a safe area (white circle) which means very rare Zombies, red is the default which basically means Zombies are around and a lots
