Does Influence carry over when finish legacy?

So, I got a question.
First: I am in my second legacy. The first one I finished with a Sheriff. I took my whole community with me into the next.
In contrast to my first legacy, I now got a very high pile of Influence I don't need at the moment, but surely I can use it nicely when I start the next legacy.
But..does Influence carry over?
Or would it be wisely to spend the Influence for stuff, before ending the legacy?

If you are starting a new community, the influence does not carry over.

So technically it's still a new community, even when I take every single person with me, right?

Or am I able to continue with the same community after finishing the legacy?

So it is better to spend all my Influence into stuff.

When you finish a legacy and keep the group going you will be moved to a new map
You want that influence so you can get the biggest base right away

you have 2 options:
1. carry on after you unlocked the legacy, you will hold all your stuff, crew and influence. you cant choose new legacy boons and must work with what you unlocked when you started the community (if you got unlocks at that time) .
2. make a new community. only 3 ppl at start, no stash stuff carry over, no influence carry over, but you can choose up to 2 boons you unlocked.
