Can you have a survivor drive a car?
So I found a second car, I'm still new. I have a survivor with me, and a car. So can't I tell him to get the car and get back to the base while I take the second one?

Man, immersion ruined.

Though this game does some things real well for immersion purposes, it also has some stuff that are really immersion breaking. Like this. And like the fact you can't siphon gas out of a vehicle. Like I said I'm still new, but I'm sure I'm going to find more.

At this rate I'm thinking of putting it on super-easy difficulty to just play through it without worrying too much.

I like the idea of them driving a car back. It makes sense.

They should allow the players to send a survivor to one of the outposts and have them guard it like the enclaves already do. Our choices right now are enlist them as a follower, or send them back home. There should be a third choice, you could send 3 survivors from your community to guard an outpost This might be used to block an infestation that is moving down the street getting ready to attack one of your outposts. You could send a squad over there to defend it.

Once you get the hang the game systems, normal difficulty becomes super easy. About 5-6 hours in my first normal playthrough, it started getting boring as nothing was really much of a threat anymore. I'd wager you'd be safe to start with that, but that's up to you.

As for the car thing, yeah, it's a bummer. If you want to have multiple cars, you have to drive/walk back and forth to gather them, which is kind of dumb when you have 2+ other characters there that could be driving them back.

Trust me, you do not want the AI in this game to be in the driver's seat.

I wasn't really hoping for AI, but rather some sort of act like when you build something. So like, a selection of where the survivor goes using what, and then some kind of timer as they leave? Like, that would suffice honestly.

Being able to tell the AI not to charge a plague juggernaut would be 10000 times more useful. xD

On the off chance they made it home the trunk would be full of plague ferals

No. And you shouldnt want them too. Those map runs to get a car will be some of your most memorable experiences you ever have.
Where does it end. Ah theres a ruck sack there, Ill just drive around and someone loot that stuff with no danger whats so ever.
Now if you want to go back to the sod 1 version, where youd boot up the game and someone had randomly died on a fetch quest, while you hadnt even played for 2 weeks.
Sure I think thats a good trade off.

That sounds fair - a chance the survivor won't make it back alive if you send them on the mission. I already know how I would deal with this. I would take my least favorite survivor (the one that I recruited from an enclave that has a negative morale trait) and always make them drive the car back. If they die, then I can live with the decision.

It's a nice idea, would be interesting to see the state of the car and the driver when (if) they made it home.

You dont get to choose who to send?
You want that car go fetch it yourself.

Hahahaha I know, right? I was slowly scrolling down to right something like this. They can't even use the door I just opened when looting buildings, they prefer to go through windows.

I think a worthwhile mod for this game would be to redraw the boundaries for AI survivors when they guard a base. We could restrict the area that they can run to when defending. Then we could keep them all grouped up and safe in a small area, so they can just pivot like a firing squad line.
