Effective methods to kill them include

- Luring them to your base and having everybody unload on it.

- Using a .50 caliber rifle, they take about 4 to 5 shots to go down with them. Alternatively give it to a companion so they don't use your precious ammo, and let them take down the jug for you.

- Using a bladed weapon. Your attacks are fast enough to get in, do 5 slashes, dodge out, and repeat.

- Using the sniper support radio call in. You can get it from enclaves or by building a Sniper tower in your base (large slot - requires a builder to be your community leader). It costs 50 influence and has a cooldown of around 7 minutes. Calling it in makes random .50 caliber bullets hit every zombie around you. Clear the area and make sure the jug is alone so all the shots hit him. Kill him when he goes down and you'll recoup the influence you spent as jugs give 50 influence on kill.

If it is a normal juggernaut, you can snipe them with headshots with a scoped and silenced 22 caliber rifle. I did that on standard difficulty. You will know it is working when they make a stagger animation. I tried the same on a plague jug on nightmare, and didn't get anywhere with it. On nightmare I kite them in front of the sniper tower at base. The AI has assault rifles set to auto.

I should probably add, if you have never killed a juggernaut - as it already has been mentioned, you kill it when he goes down on his knees and his head is exposed. You can either do an execution move with a knife, as any other execution on a zombie, or you can shoot him in the head until it pops. Just so you don't faff about and don't understand why he gets up again all the time.

firecrackers+bombs =easy mod for any horde or jugger....game is super easy that way...at least on standard mode.

Weird...my companion uses his ammo.....

also why does companion always run in and attack with melee??? Even when they have a gun? I can't figure that out...also limited pack space...sucks..:(

Nope, he does not. Take it away from him. Empty the gun. He still fires.

The AI rarely uses guns when out with you as a follower. But if you start using a gun, they usually join in for a short spell.

What you want is AI with guns in your base. They automatically go in the watch tower. They use the setting you give them. Single shot, burst, auto. So set them to auto. You can even give them damaged guns, they don't wear out.

Think 90% of the juggernauts I've killed have been by the rear end of a vehicle, currently using a military truck.

Reversing into zeds works very well, ferals require timing, and juggerauts require more hits.

Just remember to use the rear end of the vehicle, and try to avoid bloaters.

If you absolutely have to kill the Juggernaut because of a mission or something, 50+ hits with a 7.62 assault rifle should do the trick. I am not exactly sure how many, and I think he staggers 3 or 4 times before he goes down on his knees. Since the last update, Juggernauts finally notice that you use a more powerful gun, so if you're carrying a .22 or a 9mm (or a crossbow!), you'll probably going to have to spend a lot more ammo than that. Melee will bang up your weapon a lot, but it is doable. The problem, as mentioned above, is all the other zombies running interference. Just hit him from behind and predict the elbow swing before he turns around, dodge, wait for the charge, run in a suitably large circle and end up behind him again. Repat.

If you don't absolutely have to kill it, the best thing is to drive away and let it be, or lure it away from the place you wanted to go to with the car. They will charge in regular intervals, so drive slowly forward to keep them following you - then increase the pace a bit when they charge. You just circle back when they are a few hundred meters away - just make sure they don't follow you all the way back as you return. This is wise because Jugs are expensive to take down.

During base defense, giving your allies powerful, high-capacity guns with full-auto before you switch to another character. This will help base defense immensely. Avoid giving them weak, slow-firing, low-capacity guns and crossbows. If you have a .50 gun, giving one of them that will be extremely useful if a Juggernaut attacks.

As already mentioned, if possible, take it to your base and let all survivors unload on him. Goes down pretty fast and easy.

Apart from that, i usually headshot him from afar until he goes down, then run to him and execute.
This, depending on the weapon, needs some ammo.

For the love of god, dodge if you have to do melee, away from the belly mind you, my character loves to belly bounce even if im tryna dodge backwards lol

I killed a couple near my base, always piggy back and slash its throat.

You can set land mines and bait it into bull charging over them. A stack of 3 military mines usually does enough to make a Nightmare plague jugg take a knee.

Artillery strikes are about the most cost effective way to wipe out more than one Jugg at once, as long as you place the marker well.
