Does it give +40 health total or just +20?

Hero bonus gives +20 and knowledge of surgery should give another +20 like normal surgery, right?

nope, only Surgery gives the extra +20 health, however the purpose of a medic is upgrade infirmary to rank 3 and enable the +50 health that matters more to be capable of survive plague heart assaults

That is disappointing, what is the hero bonus then? In the video I watched it shows hero bonus giving +20 health, that's why I assumed it would be +40 :(

my mate, hero bonus its for all community and then, surgery only for that survivor

@TEXAS: Actually, surgery gives 20 health to the whole community, it changed a while back, my RT guys had 319 health and when I sent my surgeon to my legacy pool, they went down to 299.

I just hired one, the skill combat medicine gives you the knowledge of surgery, not its bonus so you only get +20 health from the hero bonus.
