How to put Sniper in Sniper Tower?

I currently have 2 people in my sniper tower with pistols. Is it possible to have my survivor who has a sniper rifle be prioritized for that role?

I think the only way to get AI to stay in a tower is unequip every NPC's gun, leaving only the two with snipers equipped with guns. AI can't use guard towers if they don't have a gun.

You'd think they'd have it coded so the tower would be prioritized by snipers above all else, then characters with regular rifles above the rest, then anything longer range than a pistol, then anything else. Not too hard to code that.

or any other long range rifle you want them to use .. its random which of your companion will guard in sniper tower, they tend to swap possitions.
If you dont have .50cal I suggest giving them ARs with dmg mods, dont forget they have to have main weapon set as primary .. if last gun used before you swapped them was sidearm they will use sidearm
