Saves are normally around 1 MB.
If you have few hundreds MB rest of that data are crash reports/logs.
I delete from time to time files and folders from "Saved\Logs" folder or
XXXX.CrashContext.json or similar crash related files from
"\AppData\Local\StateOfDecay2\Saved folder".
type %localappdata% in the windows taskbar. press enter. cut and paste the stateofdecay2 folder to the desktop.
Try running the game. that filder should repopulate.
Are you using the live version or the beta? Are you using the Community Editor or any mods?
Thats really bizarre for it to happen twice? Maybe you are running into a bug that does it thats hard to reproduce.
Have you put in a help ticket with support.stateofdecay.com?
is the OS installed to a mechanical drive or a solid state drive?
Have you run chkdsk on it?
Hang on.... Are you running win 11?
I remember reading something about last win 11 update stuffed up working with windows apps. May 2022 Windows 11 update KB5013943 may break apps.
According to Microsoft, the issue may be mitigated by running several commands from an elevated command prompt window:
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-HTTP-Activation
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-NonHTTP-Activation
This reactivates the .NET Framework 3.5 and the Windows Communication Foundation on affected systems, and should resolve the issue. Administrators may re-enable them in the Control Panel as well, but most may prefer the commands as they can be executed quickly.
Or roll back the update.
