Move to new map?

Noob. Playing the first map. Can now travel to New map. You get the achievements if change difficulty. Is there any other reason to change maps? Are they harder/different? Thanks

Once you upgrade your command center you will be able to travel to new maps by going to the marked exits that will now show on your map. The other maps will provide new challenges in terms base locations, layout and terrain.

Moving maps will put you on a clean map. New plague hearts, new loot everywhere, etc but you keep your community, stashed loot, and vehicles. You can choose which map you move to, or even pick the same one that you're already on (but it resets). The purpose is really just to keep playing instead of doing the legacy quest which deletes your map when you beat it and puts your characters into the community legacy pool.
