Full House achievement
Is this achievement only possible if you kill one of your two starting characters?
Limit on population is 9...

The max is like 12 I think. You need certain traits and facilities for that.

Please specify the traits and facilities I need to recruit 12. In Heartland, the standalone campaign, you dont recruit packs of people like in the main campaign.

Recruit 8 different survivors in a single game of Heartland.

tl;dr : without mods you need to kill off one of your guys cause the vanilla game wont let you recruit another person once you reach 9. Recruiting missions wont pop either.

Yes you can do it without killing anyone off, you don't even have to do anything special, just do all of the missions that you are given (main missions included)

When you reach 9, you only can recruit 10, 11, 12 through missions. "The Call is Answered" of Builder is the best mission for this situation.

I got that achievement with everyone alive and well.

I hope you are aware that achievement is only for Heartland DLC.
You can't get it playing main game.

In Heartland you can have 10 survivors so it is not difficult thing to do.

It just takes some effort to find and make some survivors recruitable
like Reba for example.

This is only for Heartland DLC and you do not have to kill anyone.
There is 8 recruitable npc's in Heartland, Malik, Izzbee, Reba, Chavez, Captain Logan, Diana, Keesha and last but not in any order is Isaac or Vic.
The order is not what I posted and I don't remember the order I got them in.
This is for the "Full House achievement".



Now for the "Campaign".

Now if you want 12 then you must play the campaign and get to 9 and then end the game, for me it was the builder leader that got me to 12 by taken in one of the 3 groups that come to your base in the "End Game" quest.

In the campaign you can get lucky and get 1, 2 and even 3 from 1 group to join you but its takes a very long time and doing a lot of quest for just a few of the enclave groups.
Not all enclave groups can be recruited this way on a very few can.
One of the groups is the one that wants to work on cars and you help them get a garage and you must keep helping them till you can recruit them all to your base. (This may only happen if you have less than 9 but I have never played long enough to see.)

Some times saving the mother/daughter/father/son quest will get them to ask to join you, don't know how to trigger it but it has happen several times in my games.
I have had the last one ask to join and have been ask if you save both then both join.
