Modding help

So I grabbed a few mods from nexus through vortex for this game, but they don't seem to be installed properly. I tried manually installing a few and the same result. What am I doing wrong here?

Did you install them in the pak folder inside your save folder? You may need to create a pak folder. Did you unzip them first?

I just choose the vortex download option for now, seems one mod is working now but hard to tell if the others are. An intro splashscreen skip one isn't for sure

Try the mod manager.
If i remember right. The no intro files go in Steam\steamapps\common\StateOfDecay2\StateOfDecay2\Content\Movies.
Most other mods have to be placed in the appdata/ local/ sod2/ saved and either the cooked or pak folder.
But kaiheilos mod manager is probably your best bet.

Alot of them dont work as they're for older versions. A few of the "Cars have more storage" ones i know dont work, others like improved red talon workshop, unlimited fuel, and better outposts do still work.

Using Vortex should create all the folders needed once you click elevate. If they dont work then my guess is they're outdated

for the intro skip without mods go to
AppData\Local\StateOfDecay2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
open game.ini and add the following
[/script/movieplayer.movieplayersettings]
bWaitForMoviesToComplete=False
bMoviesAreSkippable=True

I have tried using vortex on several games and at this time I would not use it because it seems to only load about half of the files needed for mods to work.

I would use the "State of Decay 2 Mod Manager" on the Nexus for this game.
Make sure you get mods for your game version/update.
