To fix weapon issue, it sometimes helps if you unequip it (from hands to backpack) and then re-equip it.
You can try dropping the weapon on the ground and collecting it BUT if sync error remains, you can't collect the dropped weapon, rendering you pretty much useless (happened with me once, when trying to fix sync error, ended up loosing on the 6th wave).
Oh, one time, i had sync error fixed when i ran near the game host (i usually stick far out in the field, to catch zeds early).

Next time, bother to actually read the topic titile.
ideally hook to the router with ethernet and if your router has a "Quality of Service" (QOS) option have it enabled. Depending on how advanced it is QOS can help a lot with multiple people. Even a a basic "auto" setting works pretty good.
If you are stuck with wifi set the router wifi networks to a fixed channel, any thing other than "auto" channel.
I'm sitting on a very good connection (fastest my ISP offers), yet, i still sometimes get those annoying, and often gamebreaking issues, when i'm Client and Host has poor connection.
Now, i have 0 clue on how SoD2 determinates who they match up with who. It should be distance based, paring you up with closest people. But sometimes, when there isn't much Hosts offering their game, there isn't much to choose from, and you can be paired up with people across the world, resulting in the latency issue.
Best fix is to play with your friends, whom you know have good connection and are (relatively) close where you live.
And usually last 2 rounds, my bullets are BB gun pallets and i can pass trough barricades like a ghost xD
