Almost certainly they could add it. but I think the main concern the devs have is that they want all the versions of the game to have the same build.
I have been told before, never tested, that if you load the game with no internet, and the windows account is local, then itll populate.
The trouble there is 1, the steam achievments arent going to pop and 2 im pretty sure that will bork anything with entitlements tied to it. Like Bounty broker items. maybe even some of the newer things. like the curveball setting. Im not sure how thats tracked.
Again i havent ever tested it.
You realize that if you have a windows pc, you used an email to register your windows copy to, and you can literally click one button in windows to solve this problem and never be presented with it again, right?
They really need to turn the discussion pages back so only people who own the game can post here
No I didn't, so stop being obnoxious. Having the need to create an additional account just to play their game is ridiculous and 100 anti-consumer.
If YOU are annoyed, how about ignoring the discussion and blocking the person posting instead of trying to silence people who have a legitimate problem with the business-tactics of some publishers and developers.

You mean the "business tactic"(? wtf you even mean by that) of porting a game from xbox 360 and it being built on top software that has no corresponding part in steam, that steam would have to develop if they had a desire to, but they don't desire to because it has existed for a decade elsewhere, and literally takes NO EFFORT to use?

You realize software requirements don't magically go away because of free weekend? Like, I get it you're mad, but at this point in time it really sounds like it's just people whining for the sake of whining when it's free, built into windows, and takes 30 seconds to do ONCE to resolve any issues. The game is already established, if you don't like it you won't hurt anyone by leaving

Go ahead, and explain why there is a need technical need to create a additional account for xbox live if I want to play offline in the first place. (Other than It'S a XbOx 360 pOrT. Which it isn't by the way, but why get facts in the way, right?) There are tons games, even some published by Microsoft on this platform where this is not needed. Ever heared of Games for Windows Live? Or is game-history also for boomer?
If a developer wants to put their game on steam they have plenty of ways to build something. If they don't want to do this for whatever reason, thats their decision, but I'm still gonna complain and return the game if they force me to.

GFWL stopped receiving updates in 2014, It's cool other games have the ability or desire to not use Xbox accounts, this game just happens to use them, Like it or not, it's required, get over it.
Also, it's Microsoft, if you're running windows, they have your data anyway, and making/not making an xbox account isn't going to change that.
Not defending a soulless company, just explaining to smooth brains like yourself how things work, and that this isn't an air port, you don't have to announce your departure

Free weekend doesn't mean you own the game, but reading comprehension on this discussion board is super low today, so i won't bust out the crayons to take it down to your level
