I wish other factions would be out scavenging in the town or partake in simulated missions to help other factions out when they call. Even if it were a risk-reward thing where you don't want to help out Faction A, so you ask Faction B to take care of it at risk of them having an adverse reaction to being put upon. Maybe base it off of the kind of people they are based on the enclave type system already present in the game.
The trader legacy mission kind of hints at this with the end goal being to establish a kind of trading bloc between three enclaves all in need of a commodity the other is possessing. While it's like a lot of missions in State of Decay where it's very surface level and the dialogue carries a lot of what is supposed to be happening, the idea of setting up trading routes and interdependence between factions is a cool idea that could be expanded in a future mechanic update or even sequel.
Maybe you would have to contend with not being the only big kid on campus and compete for scarce resources as was advertised in many of the difficulty patch updates. Maybe you would have to dedicate survivors to guarding caravans between enclaves which puts strain on your own available man-power for missions. Maybe you would occasionally be subject to raids by hostile survivors who want to knock you down a peg or two by taking potshots at your sentries from afar (seriously decreasing base moral with the possibility of injuring a healthy survivor or killing an injured one).
Of course, my suggestions would also require a massive overhaul for many of the game's systems, something that risks alienating the core player base Undead Labs has cultivated over the course of State of Decay 2's lifespan. It's difficult to make good changes when the core player base seems comfortable in the rut they've dug out for themselves.
1) better optimisation and less damn buggy.
2) Barricading mechanics like SOD1 but better.,
3) deeper combat. I’ve always enjoyed the combat in State of decay, but especially in State of decay 2 it just feels barebones there’s not enough to it. State of decay 1 had deeper combat. Although it still wasn’t that deep.
4) deeper simulation with your community. More options. And Able to see more interactions between your community members in real time, more dialogue animations etc. So a little bit more like the sims.
5) and of course deeper options with regards to building your base. Perhaps have more building options something similar to Fallout 4?
2. Just tell me what you want over the radio. I hate getting there, only to find they want some stuff I have in abundance. Save me the #($*ing trip back to base or an outpost.
Look; if you want to throw at reasonable, well thought out answers.....Thanks!
No seriously, I really didn't think of doing that and I should have. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
1. More vehicles and better vehicle upgrades. Vehicles that have something unique like sirens or overhead storage or body kits should keep those things. Maybe even some super lightweight options like a motorcycle or a street and trail bike.
2, Vastly improved friendly AI. No more blankly staring at me while a zed just walks up and takes a bite out of them. No more loitering in the doorway so that I talk to them every time I try to shut the door mid siege or standing on dead bodies that I'm trying to loot. No more running 30ft down the road to attack a zed that hasn't even noticed us yet while also aggroing everything in the vicinity. Or running face first into a hostile ai and getting headshot when they could be firing the damn gun that they have.
3. Remove the tether for co-op play. Maybe add multiple starter bases so that you can chose to base with your co-op friend or take a base for yourself and gather your own followers.
4. Revamped spawning system so that zeds don't spawn inside shipping containers/horse trailers or on rooftops where the ai pathfinding for some reason can't just walk them off the roof. I know usually you can just leave and come back and see if they spawn in a better spot but some quests require you to stay in the area until you fully clear it.
5. More weapon mods and the ability to mod melee weapons. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something like "Sharpening Stone" adds x lethality to a bladed weapon. Or "Ergonomic Grip" adds x Ease of Use to any melee weapon. More gun mods would also be welcome because at the moment you only have three choices. Going Loud? Advanced Brake. Going Quiet? Advanced Suppressor. Shotgun? Advanced Choke. Hotel? Trivago.
1. Expanded base customization. For example you could build or upgrade walls.
2. Larger map size. Although the maps are already really good, I think that a bigger map would offer a lot more that multiple smaller maps.
3. Larger community sizes. In State of Decay 2 I feel really limited in the size my community can get to. I remember in the original state of decay you could have 30 people in your base. I think managing a larger community would be a lot better.
Honestly I'm not really into the struggle of having to deal with zombies every 10 feet. I realize it is a zombie game, but I like the challenge of having to gather scarce resources in a world that's been picked-clean. Once you've collected your 100th firearm or so, it doesn't really feel like a great find. Juggernaut edition does a fair job of this, but doesn't go quite far enough. If I want to make the world have fewer resources, I also have to make plague hearts more common (which means more zombies to deal with).
I would like to see human vs. human interactions beefed up more. Instead of having allies live inside a shed, let them occupy other actual base sites and if you want to move in you either have to convince them to let you join them, or fight them and drive them off, for example.
- Multiple bases at once
- No preset bases
- More than 1 (2 with a temporary task) followers
- Other survivors that actually interact with the world other than giving random items
- Vehicles more in depth
- Character creation (create your own character at the start of the game)
- No 10 survivor limit (I know you can get more, but I mean like no limit at all)
- Larger maps
- More random stories (and way longer!)
- Being able to influence the actual world more (like building safe zones that actually change the look of the map, sorta like outposts just more indepth)
This.
A map editor.
A map editor would make the game timeless -- like Skyrim. The gameplay doesn't get old, but the same maps get old.
so more realistic
1) Character Customization not just looks but names and such be nice, Kinda be nice to be able to name my survivors or such also pick gender that be nice ... maybe just a you know a DECENT Character creator be nice, I Kinda like running with 2 peeps not having a 5th skill and 1 person with who i turn into my leader, pushing the RANDOM Button till i get 2 peeps without a 5th skill and no OP skill set (Like unbreakible) or a major negitive set is just annoying at times Just give me like 8 skill points i can put into the characters and pick and choose, Then give me the option for just neutrol traits or such
2) the AI Being able to drive cars back to base
3) better AI Improvements in generol
4) Remeber when we could have 12 peeps in our base? Yeah Why not larger community sizes why was that removed? why where alot of things from SoD1 removed?
5) BETTER CUSTIMZED BASES! As it is on higher diffs the base customzation is EXTREMLY Limited im tierd of having the same base set up pretty much on higher diffs, This is why i have gone back down to a easyer community diff just so i can customize my base layor more and have them feel way more unique without massively hurting my community.
I Mean Alot of these bases have buildings with stuff i can see us putting ♥♥♥♥ on the roof yet we dont bother with that coz maybe the AI is to buggie to handle that?
serioiusly would build my bunk beds or such on the roof for protection reasons and maybe a rain collector on the roof or some such thing! Take Strip Vally Mall
why cant I build on the roof of that thing?
6) Better buildings over-all, Lets face it if you can build Hydro farms why da ♥♥♥♥ wouldnt you? They are pretty much better then FARMS which is a LARGE BUILDING SLOT Da ♥♥♥♥ kind of logic is that? 'Oh well you need a skill!' Kool i need a skill basicly to improve the farm and Hydro is still pretty much better for the most part lolz @ Fail logic
7) The ability to expand / upgrade bases at least slightly again strip vally mall why cant I expand that slightly? Or improve the walls on my bases? I Mean ♥♥♥♥ alot of these bases have huge gaps on the floor or the walls look ricky as ♥♥♥♥ like i could fart and knock over parts of the wall in some of these base locations it hurts the immersion so much
8) better survivors, Be nice if they did ♥♥♥♥ ... Heck why not like give the option to give some of the other bases TO survivors? One reason why i like drucker county is i sometimes get a survivor group moving into mikes concreate or such, Which is kinda cool honestly be nice if they like upgraded it and used it / see it improve
But aparently we got this stupid BS logic that in a zombie Apoclypse we just dont ever improve our base D or such? I Mean if our characters are that dumb i think the zombies deserve to win at that point its so stupid ...
just eveything this guy said more or less
I Mean hell if you ask me Hearts give so many good weapons that the more hearts I have the better weapons I Tend to get serioiusly when i test out the map diff with number of hearts on the map i find the more hearts = better loot i get like god tier weapony and such vs smaller number of hearts = ♥♥♥♥ for loot at times. Yeah its 'easyer' to take out a few hearts at the start but the problem then becomes farming blood pleague samples for cures and such
this is one of the few games out there i honestly feel like easyer diff settings make the game harder over-all legitly
the hardest thing about leathal zone is all the bugs the zone has in extra to a normal zone
hey that blood bloater expoded miles awya enjoy your car being hit - Way more often in leathal then anything eles
Hey that blood feral just expoded your car / parking lot enjoy having ♥♥♥♥ cars now! - WAY more common on harder diff
and these are mostly becouse of the bugs that excist in the game
IF the bugs where not there kool but they are there i mean ♥♥♥♥ you still got a 'STUCK' Feature for us to use when ever we get stuck (Which happens at least a few times each time i play) which to me makes me not wanna play the harder diffs
coz your bugs are ♥♥♥♥
I Mean Yeah I would love to see a map editor but i think thats like trying to shoot the moon with undead labs. They have passion and such but man ... there skills as a company is sub par at best.
love the passion and ideas just wish you guys could kinda get your ♥♥♥♥ together. there is a reason why a lot of ppl hated this game at launch and such.
I think it would be more fun if players could take over any building like in Project Zomboid and just use it as their base or build their own bases like The Forest or ARK.
I also think it would be nice if SoD3 had bigger maps (maybe one big map instead of smaller areas) and allowed players to host their fully customizable PvE or PvP servers.
