Hey guys, just bought the game but i can't really play it because of the "state of decay 2 requires a valid xbox live account" error. How to even login in this freaking xbox live account?

First go to xbox.com create a new account there. then when you first log in it will prompt you to connect to your xbox account. Log in and you should be able to log into the game without having to see this again.

i am logged in on xbox.com, but when I launch StateOfDecay2 this prompt just pops out and all I can do is quit the game.

The same thing is currently happening to me, after getting a live account it won't even let me input my details, just an error and an option to quit or press again

If you have a Microsoft account (usually Windows 10 bugs the ♥♥♥♥ out of you until you get it - and of course if you're on Win10) you can use that, it's the same account essentially, just called Xbox for some confusing reason. I played it for like 2 hrs on xbox gamepass pre-steam release.

Stupid crap. It tells me I have an account then it tells me I don't. Now it's trying to tell me my Microsoft account doesn't exist, yeah OK!

This is the main reason I waited for the Steam release, I thought I would not have to dealk with the crappy xbox hassle. If I wanted that crap I would have gotten it for the xbox, I hate this nonsense. You wait and pay for a game and jump through hoops but you still can't play it, utter nonsense!

Mainly because you are using xbox live gaming network service, so crossplay is available. People from xbox consoles, windows store app and steam store app can play with one another. Thus an account on that xbox service is needed.

Well, if you play ubisoft, ea, f2p online , mmo games, you will probably have a similar experience of requiring an account outside of Steam. Uplay, origin, etc.

Listen dude. I have an account. I am logged into it right now through the internet but when I start the game it keeps telling me I do not have one.
