Question regarding plague hearts health
I'm currently playing on lethal, and the survivor i was using to kill the plague heart died so i closed the game in frustration. Does anybody know if the damage i dealt is saved or the next time i try to kill it will it recover the health it had

Damage is saved.

Plague hearts dont generate their health on any difficulty, if u dont have good amount of firepower, use hit and run tactic is good ideal.

Well, assuming any damage was done the last time it was saved.

If you crashed the game before it saved you might not have done any damage (but then your guy would probably be alive too).

I found some C4 somewhere and, in normal difficulty, 1 C4 + 1 frag-grenade is enough to destroy a heart. Don't know anything about lethal but maybe you should try blowing it in "one hit" with several explosives.

With c4, you need to do 1 at a time.

from what ive experienced, plague hearts build up a very short term resistance to explosives when they get hit by them to deter stacking lots of C4 and wrecking its ♥♥♥♥ all at once.

You still can do just that though, but it costs more C4 for an immediate plague heart kill then it would to sneak in, plant, sneak out and detonate.

but on lethal i kinda just want the buggers to be dead, so extra C4 it is

On Lethal, 1 C4 does around 49% (not quite 50%) of a Plague Hearts HP, which is why some people melee the heart a bit before using the first C4, to get away with only using 2 instead of 3 for that tiny bit of leftover HP. You also need to have a small delay between explosives of any kind otherwise the dmg is greatly reduced.

I highly recommend the youtuber "RvidD's State of Decay", he has some pretty cool tips and tricks vids. A couple of them go over all the different damage types against Plague Hearts including all different calibers, explosives, and some melee.

Explains why my remote box mine experiment was a disappointment.

when we are at explosive terms vs hearts, i got great effects with handgrenades. is there a way to produce them? dont seen them at the standard buildable explosives.

and what about grenade launchers? are they effective vs hearths?
