Best base of ALL
Ok, so we all know each region has a best/biggest base (opinions may vary).

But what would you guys say was the best base out of every single available base in the game?

Strip Mall? Container Fort? other?

(EDIT: I own the game on MS)

Container fort have the best bonus for his size (8beds! and storage ammo/fuel, -2threat with 4 guard).
The mall give moral (+bonus depending on skill related to art) and infimary 3, but also waste a spot for bathroom (that isn't exactly useful later, especially since you already get morale bonus) and force you to keep the kitchen instead of only building it to craft batch of stuff before swapping it.
Also, the map for the mall (drucker country) SUCKS if you want to do mission. It's a big pain to move across it.

Yeah, the problem I find with them is they are both so out of the way on the maps. I'm more curious as to what others think is the best base of all the available bases, not just by region.

Squelones Brewing Company is my favorite. I can easily grind out influence, great location. Plus I like beer.

Container Fort is nice overall, but I think I like Prescott Fire Station is surprisingly self sufficient. Bridge Fort is insanely defensible but hard to play in higher difficulties due to lack of morale option. Strip Mall was the biggest disappointment for me. I thought it was going to be amazing but I got there and just did not like the layout and options. Lumber Mill is pretty good if you want to enable horde mode for a while.

I think on the highest difficulties, any base with a lot of outdoor slots is what I aim for first. I like to mitigate that siege threat early on with watchtowers then work on dealing with morale as I find recruits and deal with hearts/infestations.

For fresh communities I would go for strip mall or fire station as they have built in gyms to begin with and decent set up for self efficient communities. With a sheriff leader you can build a level 3 lounge and a max shooting range which will increase your skills on all fronts. the Lounge has education videos that level all skills up including your 5th skills while the gym and shooting range will level all the 4 basic skills.

I use this the mid max my community by kicking and recruiting till i have only beneficial traits in all my members with no negative traits. then i max all their skills.

however i would suggest moving once you have built a community to its max as all the exp gains are useless and wasted slots.

after those i would pick a large base with at least 3 large slots as one is always a staging area. if your okay with not having any outdoor small slots then the lumber mill is a good place to play around in. however if your looking to building a distillery to be self sufficient in fuel then you will need a large base with an outdoor small plot in which case the container fort isnt a bad pick.

my only complaint about the container fort is how poor it feels. the beds are hidden so none of your survivors actually sleep and i believe it has only 2 large plots so you will likely be swapping out large plots constantly.

It depends on how you play and if you use boons. I dont use builder boon so best base for me is Prescott Fire station.

Prescott is a great one, true. My preference is Mike's Concrete on Drucker County so far. That huge fuel tank and built in generator is great. Of course, my playstyle is warlord leader with upgraded heavy trucks and lots of incendiary weapons for hearts and hordes, so it suits my purposes.

I like Squalones Brewing too, but its more geared for a Trader legacy, which I've already done.

I don't think there's a bad HQ, it's just a matter of what facilities you need for what you're trying to accomplish.

It really does seem to be the case that there is no 'One base to rule them all'. Which I suppose isn't a bad thing as it would be everyone's endgame and be rather boring.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll prob just move into the container fort again when I switch regions. Going to try Lethal for the first time...

This is mine as well for Meagher valley. I have found by the time you can afford the largest bases the map is already won anyway. small and medium bases with a central locality are the best for my playstyle.

The Heartland base kind of rules them all. But that's kind of a separate game.
