Oh, for True Grit achievement (100 days), it is very helpful if you have Red Talon survivor with Hacking specialization, since he/she will give you +1 outpost slot as well. With this, absolute maximum of outposts you can have, is 7. (I'm also doing True Grit, day 73, and i have 5x Red Talon Daybreak Operators as my survivors, including one with Hacking.)
im currently on day 53 for true grit , but i dont use RT mercenaries since im aiming for base sustainibility. and yes the max outpost u can get are 7 (6 from max command centre + network relay and 1 from hacking skill for RT operator.)
i got 2 ammo , 2 meds and 2 materials outpost to the maxed.
materials cover all my facilities cost , so no upkeep at all , plus 2 materials from my community who have scavenging runs trait and workshop.
i got +4 ammo , -2 from breachers.
i got +4 ammo , -2 meds from hospital.
i got +2 fuel from allied enclave.
i got +9 food daily , and its after i subtract the amount for community daily consume.
so yeah my base is sustainable af
if u got another extra spot from the RT , i suggest either you use it for landmark outpost such as Leeds Mill or even Sasser Hospital or u can use it for offensive purposes maybe cell tower to reduce radio cooldown or even artillery outpost.

I have 5 RT survivors since they help my community in more ways than one.
My current upkeeps (note, i loot the entire map and then change maps to loot again. I'm currently on 4th map):

good , my morale usually stays above 60 , as long as its ethusiastic , so i dont mind at all...
my threat always zero coz i live in whitney field , so i spam a lot announcer XD
When my base morale is also Enthusiastic (+50 or above), i don't use the temporary morale boosters either. Though, i'm currently testing out the max infestations there could be on the map and with loads of them, morale drops. But i can boost it considerably, when needed.

What i'm interested in, is what the "more" actually is. What's the max.
I currently have 10 infestations on my map and there are 2 differences i've noticed.
* Everyone gets -15 morale penalty (which is obvious)
* Zombie sieges on your base happen far more often. Several per in-game day.
Though, zombie sieges doesn't contain any additional zeds or freaks. They still are the same as base threat level gives it. Since mine is 7, each zombie siege lasts 59 seconds and consist of only 10 normal zeds. Oh few normal blood plague zeds as well.
Though, when to think about it. This is actually quite nice way to farm influence, especially when base is well defended. Since each successful defence mission gives 200 influence.

Btw, my solo Daybreak tactics are 1:1 to this.
Oh, i got that achievement in random MP Daybreak, when i ended up with other good Daybreak players.

Just curious what you mean by this. I've recruited a few RT mercs in lethal and they sometimes have excellent sustainability buffs. The one I recruited yesterday has something like +2 materials and -2 noise level for her hero buff. My other one has a big infection resistance buff (though not really relevant).
