I HATE Drucker County with passion, BUT I LOVE the Mall.
Best map for bases without a doubt is Providence tho.
Trumbull was disappointing. Too much force crap. Trailer park is decent. Farm is great.
Strip mall is a DEATH TRAP.
Tip #1 close off the rear entrances with an upgraded car.
Tip #2 stand on the container south of the main entrance. This will lure the Juggernaut to you. The problem with this is that survivors will sometimes go outside of the gate.
Yes, it needs it's setbacks for sure. Like easily knocked off. Very loud etc...
With that said: I personally have only a few bases I like. I like the baseball field, strip mall, & container fort for large ones. Others I wish I could remove some of the built-in stuff as that would open them up for some better builds.
I definitely prefer Trumbull valley more than other maps since basically every base is defensible, zombies can just climb over the walls of most bases on other maps.
Issue is with shortcuts etc, my cars seem to take random damage every now and then despite not hitting anything or jumping etc.
You probably was looking at different times and saw all 4 spots manned. "Defensive Towers" only has 3 armed guards.
Though, NPCs move around and cover the 4th spot regularly. Also, there are 3 doors into the base and no climbable walls. So, the NPC cover, for the most part, is good.
I agree. Strip Mall's one small outdoor slot isn't enough to protect the base, even with RT watchtower there. Another option would be having Builder leader with Sniper Tower, to complement RT watchtower.
Strip Mall does look nice, but bugs with it are severe and make it the worst large/huge base in the game.
Yes, base design in Trumbull Valley is different from the rest of the game. Sure, most bases have more built-in facilities than on other maps, but they are also more defensible as well.
Only Chekpoint Delta and Pterodactyl Ptark have 1 spot in the wall, where zeds can climb up and into the base. For other bases, zeds have to use doors.
And in RT FOB, there are two scalable walls (like the ones in Daybreak) but only ferals can climb those, making everyone else go to the doors.
Farmland Compound also has one part of the wall that player can get over, SE corner (when looking map) or SW corner (when looking base screen) but that is one-way only, from inside to the outside, by climbing boxes. You can't get into the base from outside at that spot.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I always put up a normal/RT watchtower there and it forms a kill zone even to the parking lot across the street. Not only that but there are built-in guard spots on the roof.
Mall base has always been one of the most defensible bases I've ever had, especially compared to others like the fire station (even with blocking some entrances, zeds ALWAYS run rampant in the base).
Built-in, yes. And NPCs do climb to the roof from time to time. But they never use the roof to shoot from, since Strip Mall does not utilize the roof in the same way as e.g Prescott Fire Station roof is utilized. There isn't even a built-in facility in Strip Mall to act as a defensive positions.
Also, the bug with the base is, that NPCs often walk outside of the base, even when you block the entrance with a vehicle, since opening a door from inside to outside, is powerful enough to push the car away, giving clear path to the base.
I've seen loads of people complaining about this bug with Strip Mall. Loosing survivors on Nightmare/Lethal, especially when blood juggs come during the siege.
On Green/Standard zone, RT watchtower may be enough, but Nightmare and up = great way to loose survivors during the siege.
It also doesn't help that the base is located on of the worst parts of the map and has only 3 parking slots. Sure, Container Fort is also located on the edge of the map and comes with 3 parking spots, but it has far better features and a lot more open slots to build facilities in.
