Can't find computer skill book or character
Been playing for 15 hours now. Would really like to have someone with computer skill. Is it all RNG as far as finding books or enclave peeps that have the skill? Found 4 mechanic books and 3 medic books and some other ones, no computer.....

Just rng. Visit all the enclaves when they restock, visit every vendor, and hit the libraries.

Libraries are very useful for finding books, though I don't think all maps have a library. I've also found higher instances of books in offices and pawn shops as well.

I had issues with that too, then traders started rolling in and one after the other had a book. Just get a character and save him afterwards so you can always start with a computer guy next time.

Try offices, pawn shops. There are usually three offices together; two downstairs and one upstairs. Drucker County has got three of these commercial areas; one in the Northwest town, one in the central town and one in the Easternmost town with the Library. Meagher Valley has got one; by the central bridge. Providence Ridge has got one in the central town with the train station. Cascade Hills don't really have any.

All the maps have a single office or two scattered around.

Check the two-floor building, it has a large office not so far from the train station. You can train anyone with an empty 5th skill slot.

It's the two-storey building in the town near Rusty Rosie's that has got a fast food restaurant and three offices.

You can recruit someone who has the Computers skill or its specializations Programming and Electronics. You do this by making "enclaves" allies, or by completing missions where you help someone with something.

These NPCs are completely randomly generated.

There are no libraries in Providence Ridge. Only in Drucker County and Cascade Hills.

We are talking about offices, not libraries...

I think after like 30 hours of play I gave up on trying to find the computer book in Providence Ridge. No one know's what a computer is in that backwater, ha. I ended up just rushing to beat it with the builder hero. Then started a new game with the builder perk on a new map and just rolled for the new hero's till I got a guy with the computer skill that I wanted.

there are one way to get guaranteed computers book...

make a trader leader and then make trade post, so you can call traders,

one of the traders most of the time will come with computers book, cannot remember now if its materials trader but think is parts trader, with trade post you can call for near every basic skill books,

best regards and good gaming

There are radar stations that will actually teach you computers , I found one and it taught me how to have some of my characters , you don't need a book just look for a radar station !!!! Trader leaders also is a good idea and searching libraries !! (I just looked at this post and just found this out no lie)

The post is 4 years old, which explains why this recent change has not been mentioned here.
