Does the game get harder over time?
So i just started playing this. Currently on day ~25 of my first community. I'm not quite sure, but i think that the game is getting a bit harder over time. Is that true? And if true, what affects it? The days survived? Number of survivors? Something else?

I kinda want to just stay and live forever but i'm worried that if i stay too long i will get overwhelmed by zombies and lose everything.

Little bit, I think, early of game, I don't see lot of freak, but time went by, I do noticed that more zombie and freak spawn often, freak become common from rare, so yeah, it's little harder in some way.

It gets more and more boring, though. As times goes on, you will be unkillable by anything,

I cannot say anything for certain but I felt like the amount of zombies increased once I killed all plague hearts, and they went up by a LOT when I did my final sheriff mission.

The game seems to encourage you to finish up and start a new community with new perks/survivors, but I don't know if that means you can't have a super-long game. Good luck!

Odd, did you think plague hearts should be left alone to keep zombie number down?

You must be playing on Normal... Scrub.

Humble, again, I don't have any hard numbers, just a general impression: it feels like you should take out plague hearts to lower plague zombie numbers in an area, but not too many as overall zombie numbers increase.

I don't know if that's accurate or if zombie spawn is related to time or what.

Grubbs: hey, don't be a snob about difficulty. That's rude.

Honestly it only ever gets easier. Experience with the game, experienced survivors, weapons gained, DLCs, etc.

They got Nightmare mode, but personally i see it as annoying then challenging. They can't do much tho since the game is so shallow and they make you so OP.

I have to agree with this. No numbers of course, but after killing a Plague Heart, general zombie density and number of Freaks feels like it increases. I just killed the last heart on my first map (newbie scrub), and it had a Bloater, 2 Screamers, a Feral, and 2 hordes of Plague Zombies around it. The one prior to that had 2 hordes a Screamer and a couple Bloaters.

Multiple Freaks started showing up together after I had cleared most of the hearts on the map also.

Game does get easier as you go along though. Between the better weapons, and more knowledge of how to approach things, the game doesn't scale up difficulty to match you. Going to jump to Dread after I finish this one and see how that works out. Radio options are OP though. Calling in a Sniper makes Plague Hearts easy AF.

Yeah, do NOT use radio options if you want to preserve any difficulty. I think of those drops as cheat items - fun, but not if you want zombies to be actually threatening.

Legacy Boons don't carry over from Low to High Difficulties

Legacy Boons do however carry over from High to Low Difficulties

Example: You unlock Builder Boon in Dread Difficulty, it is unlocked for Standard Difficulty
You unlock Builder Boon for Standard, it doesn't carry over to Higher Difficulties
