Daybreak - Not a teambreak!
Seriously. I've never had so many failures on daybreak as when this game launched on Steam. I've played it on MS store since release though. However, i know people gotta learn and it will prolly take a while before "most" reaches last and finishes last stage in daybreak. But at this moment it shouldnt suprise anyone that daybreak requires teamplay!

It means conserving your ammo so theres enough for everyone.
It means use ammo only on freaks. Trust me there will be plenty freaks on later stages.
It means gathering CLEO drops and return them to crates witrhout hoarding.
It means save explosives for jugs etc.

Some tips are to not fight behind the walls but go to the road and stop them before they reach the walls. This is done easiest by simply spreading out accordingly. Help eachother with freaks though.
You can also drop wall repair kits infront of each wall for faster repair. Repair only when wall marker is orange or red.
One shoot bloaters only. Some empty a clip on them.
Place deployable mines inside walls on the path leading to the tech guy. It will take of ferals and loose zeds.
When unlocked, use the heavy sniper. Aim it for the jug heads and you will take down a jug in few shoots before even reaching walls.

This way we've reached the end many times and hopefully will again :)
Renember, everyone needs ammo and healing, dont hoard the items,

Steam player here...

I've gotten to the point now where, if I join a game, there's no ammo in the boxes ( shotgun aside), there's no ammo deposited on the ground infront of the walls.. I just insta-quit.

You just know it's not gonna go right when right from the get-go your team-mates are hoarding ammo.. >_<

well, if you are a pro gamer you could make a guide on steam, newbies like me would appreciate something like that

to be fair most ms store players just used cheats, 999 ammo drops, 100 remote drops.

Me and my friend can 100% duo it, but as soon as we let 2 randoms join. ALL the ammo is gone, ALL the meds are gone, ALL the bombs are gone, and they switch to full auto and light up regular zeds like it's a Rambo movie. It's seriously not a difficult game mode, it's the randoms you get which make it a ♥♥♥♥ gamemode

I understand what you are saying, but is it not more fun if it's hard to complete?

I understand it more you can pretty much melee up until 3-4 round if you have a solid full team It wouldnt be hard to do the last 3 rounds using your guns mix with melee. its impossible solo

Well, if I join with my Blast Rifle and there is no CLEO ammo in right-most chest, I just check host weapon. Very rarely its another Blast or Heavy Sniper. Usually an SMG or even Pistol lol, I auto-quit at this point.

In any other game with other fellow Blast Rifle player I tend to share CLEO ammo with them. But never explosives, they tend to use them randomly and on normal zombies often.
I'll never forget that game I've had with two kindergarden mutants, screaming-laughing "EZ-EZ" when I carried their butts until the very end.

No, not when come to unlock and gain to buy reward for main game, it's very costly and long time to unlock those building for main game. Most people don't like to do lot, lot of work to gain little stuff in over time even 4 good player, it's took hours for one 7 wave to pass and beat it.

I have yet to try "Daybreak" but I only read bad stuff about this game mode to my understanding it's a tower defense mode with a lot of repetitive grind. is it doable solo because I'm not a big fan of random MP in modern games.

on my third Nightmare Zone Campaign at the moment and it's like good old times in "Breakdown" (SoD 1).

Yeah, I've played it and from the get go I realized there's no way you can just shoot all the zombies dead. After a while I just stopped playing it. Everyone stays behinds walls, shoots the zombies, repairs walls that are still in yellow, hoards meds, ammo, CLEO pistols eating up all the CLEO ammo... It's just frustrating. I'm wondering if it is doable in solo.

It's doable solo. Not easy. I have not done it, but there are playthroughs and guides on YT on how to do it.

thanks for the answers, might give it a go later on then.

You could sole, but it's become easier once you got some weapon/mine unlock, but it's much easier to play MP because I think at best you can get 4 (inclubing you) player rather than just you with 2 npc that don't do job, won't do repair wall, not clever to shoot enemies down. So it's much easier to pass wave if you happen to get 4 player together (inclubing you in it) rather than sole with 2 low or not very smart npc soldiers.

But however, it's hard to get 4 player, some just quit, some just noob took all ammo and make game much harder for everyone in later wave. Should use melee in first few round before use heavy firepower by gun and mine.

It's more than possible, but stressful since you need to keep a lot in your mind and one mistake can cost you a game (I accidentaly scrolled the items and instead of healing myself dropped flame grenade, ignited myself, dropped on the ground and then wasted 10 seconds to stand back on my feet - couldnt heal in time either - dead)
I've used this video, the strategy is viable, but I always bring Remote Rocket Pod instead of Deploable Minefield ONLY because it kills Juggernauts instantly and can kill 2 at the same time if they are close together. Juggs are the real threat, Ferals will be killed fast by AI.
