Yep. The range is pretty good though, in my opinion.

Yeah, it's not even noticeable playing with friends, and only occasionally do I get tethered when playing in a random public join.

When i played it on the windows store with friends, we were always communicating and never ran into issues.

Like you are, but really it's amazing the distance you can go lol unless you are doing something extremely far away (why even play together at that point) you probably wont notice it...

Does anyone know if your coop buddy can have some sort of autonomy? can he invest in skill points / take over characters or start his own community or is he just there for the host.. just helping out in the fire fights and carrying stuff ? This question is directed towards the new Steam version, not the old one.

In State of Decay 2, regardless of the version, friends who join your game are assisting your community. They will still be able to level the characters they bring into your world, just as they would in their own, and they can still loot just as they could in their own world. They do not take control of any character in your community, nor do they setup their own base in your world.

thanks for answering. that's kinda sad.. bad coop design. do you know if they've also implemented dedicated servers or is it still just p2p ?

As it stands now, it's still p2p, I haven't read anything to suggest it is changing either.

With respect to the design choice for co-op, even though it's rather simplistic, I still do have a lot of fun playing with friends in that game (in spite of the quirks/bugs that exist). Most of the best moments I've had came in co-op mode, but I can appreciate that the experience could have been far more in depth.

Ye, it's a bit odd devs keeping quiet about the whole co-op thing and mostly focusing on some new map they've added and a couple of weapons. hope I won't regret my purchase. I held out for 2 years, waiting for the MS exclusivity to expire.
What is your ip Mar 5, 2020 @ 3:28pm
ooo private server with 10 people. Maybe even 30 with some role playing. If it can be done to GTAV This game is doomed lol

Dedicated player base on PC and console renders this opinion invalid ;)

"Dedicated player base on PC and console renders this opinion invalid ;)"

Having a handful of fanboys doesn't render a franchise immune to dying off, what a stupid perspective.

Guess we'll see when the stats are up on Steam as to what's considered stupidity :conwayshrug:
