Why no PVP?

I played the first one quite a lot on my xbox so I know it a bit, its a really cool game really looking forward to this Juggernaut edition on Steam.

But why is there no PVP?

A PVP like we have it in The Division or Kane%Lynch could really elevate the experience. It could come with heavy penalties like a high risk/high reward stake.


Imagine being able to take prisoners between two colonies. One thing thats really fun about DayZ is not the killing but the hostage taking.

You should really think about it as I am pretty sure that the lack of PVP is why this game didn't take off as well as other survival games despite this one being of better quality.

Because it's not meant to be a PvP game. It's a singleplayer game with optional co-op multiplayer. This isn't meant to be a game like DayZ. I for one am glad that the game doesn't have PvP.

Ya know games can offer multiple gamemodes with a variety of rules. Take the new CoD for example. You get SP MP Co-op and in multiple variations.

I am not asking for them to take the singleplayer out ya know. The existance of PVP doesn't concern you in the slightest.

Also honestly why is Microsoft not paying additional developers to expand this game? They desperately need games and they claimed to be working on new ones but I don't see them.

I bet 50% of gamers don't even know of this game and no I don't mean moms and the elderly that play candy crush on their tablet.

Not every game is supposed to have PvP. The developers have limited resources and considering how long they take for their updates and how long it took to develop the game, doing a PvP mode would affect the development of singleplayer. Sacrifices would have to be made. State of Decay is primarily a singleplayer game and it's good that way. Also if 50% of gamers know this game then this would be a really high number. The vast majority of gamers are casual players or people that only play a few specific games. I'm sure that significantly less than 50% of gamers know this game. But that's not really an issue, the game has it' target audience.

Dude this is a 3rd person shooter and honestly there is nothing more simple in this world than a 3rd person shooter and making a 3rd person shooter PVP is the most simple thing in the word.

To even suggest that doing a PvP would affect singleplayer is a fallacy.

If anything PVP would result in more people buying and playing the game that means more money that means more money for making more content and more content means more singleplayer.

Yeah, game needs pvp, something like a 32vs32 match with siege battles, catapults and trebuchets.

Nonsense, an additional game mode doesn't affect nor impact the other modes at all.

You may not realize it but it does and from what way you've been explaining your wants from a PVP standpoint it's not even worth having a debate with you.
If you're wanting PVP experiences, go play DayZ or Escape from Tarkov. It's as simple as that.

lol why are you so dumb like seriously if you think going to play DayZ would just be an alternative then NOPE.

Also no it does not. Just use your brain for a second people can go and buy Call of Duty and then just play the campaign or the coop or the MP or whatever.

The existance of other modes doesn't impact the main modes at all.

Take the battle royale mode in Black Ops 4 it comes with its own rules and therefore doesn't impact the MP at all.

People want to shoot other people, not bots. Even a 4vs4 mode so having two coop teams that fight each other would already suffice.

each character is unique and some of them really good traits

can we live in harmony? i got too problems already zed are everywhere and a new virus is spreading. its so deadly that it can kill a human in 10 mins .... i mean undead.

this game is focus on surviving and exploring towns to find a safest place to live if possible.
pvp is focus on fighting and killing each other.
death is permanent.

maybe a seperate mode? or a new game? yes?

Games like CoD are not bought for the single player; just for the pvp. What you are asking for is what happened to Fortnite. It was just the co-op Save the World mode before the Battle Royal hits, and many forget about the zombie defense that started Fortnite.

To do the PvP mode you are talking about would need more of an MMO style of game. You may do well with that idea. Perhaps you could find a studio to make that for you. It would need to be a different set of Devs as Undead Lab's vision is about making your story by surviving the zombie horde instead of a bunch of squads of streamers trying to off each other.

Ah now I know why zombie games become more and more popular, people become dumber and dumber and so they can relate to zombies and in a few years you'll all be the zombies.

The rating of the game is 18+ and I seriously question if you're above 6 years old by your lack of logic.

If you don't like the PVP then guess what you can just go and PLAY THE COOP MODE INSTEAD.

Ya know what this game's singleplayer is ruined by it being clearly made for coop because its barely any fun alone and very lacking. Therefore the coop ruinsthe singleplayer of this game and should therefore be taken out.
