Ripley's Flamethrower no longer works?
Alright, first things first, I do not play Aliens: Colonial Marines on the PC, I play it on the XBOX 360 (Yeah, yeah PC IZ BUTTURRRRR) and whenever I go on Multiplayer, I usually use Ripley's Flamethrower. If an Alien got too close for comfort, I could always rely on the Flamethrower add-on to the weapon to save my skin, although it didn't save me all the time. The problem is that now, my flamethrower doesn't work, which means that I'm now using a mod-less Pulse Rifle that I can't even look down the sights of. I've already spent enough money on the console version, and I'd really love to know if there was some solution to this problem, because I love the Alien series and I'd hate to see Gearbox manage to screw up one of, if not, *the* most iconic weapon in the series.

On a side note, I witnessed someone try to use it on me just today. The weapon's flamethrower sounded, but there was no gushing stream of flame to meet my Spitter. It was at that point I was sure that this was a programming problem and not a connection one.

As a PC player I feel Ripleys flame thrower underwemlming. If I run forward with it I'm supprised that I don't burn myself. It is only effective when packing away, or shooting at the ceiling, in my opinion. Some are good with the grenade launcher.... I am not one of them.

There is an ongoing thread for console updates/suggestions at gearbox. I suggest you make an account and voice your opinion.

Im on pc, and i have this problem too. Ripley's flamer just does not sets fire

Ripleys flamethrower as a flamer is useless, it literally does nothing on any setting above soldier. It makes no sense, the fuel guage vanishes into nowhere... The thing is supposed to be a m240 yet if you pick up the actual m240 it works great in all difficulties and is good in multiplayer as well. The one on Ripley's pulse rifle just does almost nothing... I understand they needed to balance a combi weapon like this but really... it plain sucks.

The pulse rifle is decent and is automatic the way Hudsons should be. I have no complains with the other functions of the gun.

the flamer is most likely nerfed for balencing issues. cant have some players running around with a power weapon from start i guess

If it was a nerf, I'd still be burning things. I'm not burning anything.

I'm not talking about Campaign, I'm talking about Multiplayer. Please read.

My post covered multiplayer as well, I simply covered all game modes where I find the weapon to be poor.

My mistake. Sorry. It's a shame that it used to work damn well too.

tested in multiplayer and co-op. flamethrower does not work. there is animation of fire but he did not set fire to. Now this gun is useless because the low accuracy of the rifle was compensated only by presence flamethrower.

I just noticed that, it's really feels... useless. Since when I get the game 2 months it was an OK weapon. But now the Assault Rfile flamer is more effective and it does ignite enemies.
