Why do people hate this game so much?

Why do people hate this game so much? [Edit- TIL/ So everyone is mad that they spent money on something without seeing the finished game? Would you buy a car/house with out test driveing it or doing a look over of the house? I put the blame on the sheep who have let the game makers SCREW us over with DLC and pre-order BS.]

Only thing that keeps me going is multiplayer now, and that's even starting to burn me out. Especially with less and less players over time. The game is built on lies, Gearbox knew it was ♥♥♥♥ before it was out (review embargo) and got us on launch day, myself included. I'm curious to see if ACM will be the cause of Borderlands 3 being the lowest selling borderlands in the series.

people buy terrilbe games everyday for there phones and flat tops. but none of them get close to how bad this game is for what it it is.game make little sence game play is unplayable at times and it has the same amout of comedy as horror.a space ball reference and there is red blood. thats it. theres more content in the forums then in the game that was made over a substantial time...aahh the tremmors have subsided

id time machine and trade a full preorder of acm,bo2,sleepingdogs,shipsimulatorextream. all of them for a copy of terraria. i dont time machine cuss the effects are unpredictable and cause effects like a:cm. past trys at time travel created facebook...that was bad

lol gee I wonder, could it be the horrendous campaign that is more like call of duty, that is short and has terrible a.i and no scary atmosphere or suspense at any time and has 2006 gfx's? Or could it be the lack of maps and content for multiplayer that was all taken out to be sold as DLC, no dedicated servers and no anti-cheat take your pick of the reasons why ppl hate this game.

I am filled with more disappointment than hate for the game. It had so much potential and with a little more attention to the details this would have been a great game worthy of the Aliens name.

What we got was a story so full of plot holes it appears as if portions of the game were removed without thought to how it would affect the game.

We got a game with dated graphics, stupid companions, terrible AI, multiplayer without dedicated servers, uninspired level design and probably the most anticlimactic boss battle I have ever experienced in my 35 years of playing video games!

The fact that this game shows so much potential makes these problem seem even worse!

I, like most people, purchased this game based on the awesome "In Game Footage" that Sega and Gearbox had been showing. I also purchased the Seasons Pass based on this footage.

I am hoping that one of two things will happen. Sega will insist that Aliens:Colonial Marines gets the patches it deserves or Sega allows the community to fix the game by releasing the SDK.

I place the responsibility at Sega's feet because their name is first in the credits and they were given the responsibility of telling the Aliens story for PC and console players.

I am disappointed by the total lack of communication from both Sega and Gearbox. It doesn't inspire confidence in the community. It would go along way if they would simply let us know the plans they have to fix the mess that this game is.
