Haha good stuff.
Given that most retailers only started accepting pre-orders in December/January for A:CM that would seem to be impossible. What the redditer would be talking about would be the initial seed capital from the contract, not pre-order funds.
Also, keep in mind that this didn't come from Sega directly, it came from an anonymous "employee" who may or may not have been a tester (given the information provided, I still wager he/she was no "tester" as they wouldn't be privy to a lot of the financial information).

Nobody is talking about pre-order money.. The topic is weither or not Gearbox took the money that Sega gave them to make A:CM and instead used it to make borderlands and its terrible sequel. I am calling bull on the integrity of the "game tester". His claim is that Sega never looked at the progress of A:CM because borderlands was such a smash hit.
SEGA dumped approx 60 million of their money into this game. It has nothing to do with pre-orders gomer. lol
