DOES YOUR XBOX CONTROLLER WORK?
If so, can you please post your pecaninput.ini file? I am comparing with other titles now, and really want my XBC to work. (Sega, GearBox, Or Steam People??? Please?)

It works with everything except Aliens. (COD II, Doom BFG, Dishonered, Batmar Arkham City, and many (all) others. ) I get nothing in ACM. I have reveiwed the ini's to all end, with no hope as yet, other than disable and use the KYB and Mouse.

Have you applied any of the ini tweaks? The Adonys one (if you did a copy paste) over writes the contoller switch.

In the Pecanengine ini (localed in libaries/documents/My Games/Alien Colonial Marines/Pecan Games/Config) under Windows 7

Look for: (Under [WinDrv.WindowsClient] sub heading) or hit Ctrl, F

AllowJoystickInput=1

If its set at 0, the Xbox controller wont work.

Hope this helps.... if not I dont have a clue..

Mine works fine.

Plugged mine in, worked fine.

Have you gone into the options and triggered on controller support?

yes.

Mine works fine.

I'm having exactly the same issue with my xbox controller for windows (wired). I have just rebuilt my machine to win 7 (8 drove me nuts). I have reinstalled version 1.2 of the driver several times, checked Limey Beats suggestion. If i press the xbox controller button it loads, what i assume is a Big Picture client and it works for that, but when it gets to the game it stops working. I have tried to disable the controller in the game settings but it doesn't let me save. It says to accept changes press A(green) or B(red). Driving me nuts so going to try and install the game again see if that fixes it.

Goto mydocs\my games\Aliens colonial marines\pecangame\config\pecanengine.ini
search for joystick ; find the line AllowJoystickInput=0 and make it a 1 ; Then you can at least play with Mouse/Keyboard. Other than that, I have had NO success in getting this to work. Sad for you, but happy for me I now know I am not the only person having this problem. Sega Support's wonderful comment: "It works on my system just fine." --Have these folks ever been in a support role before? Sheesh, I have been doing this for a living for almost 20 years; I would fire any of my engineers that give that kind of answer, then close the case.

STEAM: THERE ARE PEEPS OTHER THAN ME WITH THIS ISSUE! PLEASE HELP!

Peteawilson: Are you running x64?
Inkarr Feb 25, 2013 @ 11:27pm
Sorry yes i am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and i have the correct drivers. xrisco2000, i have just uninstalled and reinstalled aliens:cm and my pad now works for it. Finally. Give that a shot.

I have reinstalled about 5 times so far, but I will give one final shot.

Yep i swapped the controller out of the front USB slot where it had worked and put it in one of the back slots. Lo and behold, stopped working for A:CM. It tried it back in front port and all other fixes i knew about including reinstalling the controller. Found it works fine for BF3. Reinstalling the game again. I'll let you know what happens.

plug in controller, look in device manager under human interface devices... notice 2 HID-Compliant games controllers (With controller plugged in,) right-click and disable the second device. It works .... ! Took me until yesterday to figure this out.

Glad you got it sorted xcrisco2000. I haven't the symptoms you described above. I'm hoping that reinstalling A:CM will solve it again for me.

Wired and wireless!
Inkarr Mar 9, 2013 @ 10:35am
Reinstalling A:CM didn't work. No idea why the controller doesn't work again.
Mahon007, if that was a question it is the wired controller
