Alien Colonial Marines not starting (app already running)

Pls help me... i just buy the game and instal but always get this massage..
I have try : reinstall the game
exit steam, delete or rename appcache folder , start steam
And still get same message
i have win7 ultimate 64bit

I've restarted my computer twice. Still doesn't work. I have attempted just about every solution so far and it doesn't work. I have almost no idea what the problem itself is. Thus I believe every solution thus far is closer to a shot in the dark instead of an actual fix.

I keep crashing on the splash screen has any one got a fix for that?

Add another - I'm crashing as well. I've deleted appcache, I've deleted all game content and reinstalled, I've changed languages, updated video drivers... nada.

When I look at the crash info, I get this (note I have no /bamboo folder on my PC - this is from the game itself):

Still nothing working. Missing out on some good co-op play with some friends tonight "sigh"

Hopefully they wont be to bored with the game by the time my game actualy plays.

I've tried deleting appcache, AppUpdateStats.blob, restarting Steam, restarting PC, disabling Avast anti-virus, nothing works.

Tried all day trying to figuring out a way to fix it, but no luck. Theres not even a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ executable file so I can try launching it under administrator.

I'm about to just give up and go play another game.

I've had the splash screen crash as well. The way I got past it is change my system locale to English UK. Bizarre, but it worked.

This stuff is just great.
No solutions for this specific problem on the internet yet either.

The splash screen crash happens after you do the verify game cache and it downloads (for me) the 11mb update. When I play after that I get the screen crash.
When I close out of steam and reopen after getting the crash, then I get the app running message.
And the third and Final message which sounds like no one has done yet, is if you go into the game folder and click the actual exe, it says steam servers are too busy to handle this request.

Hey guys, I can play the game just ifne with Beta Nvidia profile I am amaing that it spushing 1500 mB or mor eof Video Texture memory and I am getting 40 FPS average on an i5-2500K GTX 580 Card when I have to limit Dead Space 2 on PC to 60 FPs othewise fan on my card spins so fast and makes a lot of noise. We need a Higher Resolution Texture pack.If Bethesda can do it for Skyrim why can't they? Now, point aside I can play the game just fine but when I quit, I get the same message from steam app is running. I hope they fix this. Also, there was no patch. I did not see steam updating this game. So where is the patch guys?

For me that was missing english localization. I switched to another language, copied all localization files, switched back, pasted files and it worked. There are 2 folders where localization files are stored - pecangame/localization and bin/engine/localization

i'm getting the same problem and i'm in the uk. have reinstalled the game 6 times with no sucess.

game has just installed and quess what, still does'nt work, and steam did not update the game with patch which was supposed to of been released. Great. Epic Fail.

Ok fellas Im havin the same issue, all to do with a missing exe file in my case, had to do the appcache as well, worked fine yesterday, contacted steam this is the reply and my reply to them underneath.


If you still have difficulty, you may also need to run secondary installers required by this game.

Exit Steam entirely

Browse to your Aliens Colonial Marines installation folder (Usually C:\Program files\Steam\Steamapps\common\Alens Colonial Marines\)

Run the following installers

...\Steamapps\common\Aliens Colonial Marines\Binaries\Redist\UE3Redist.exe

I can confirm this is the missing exe file. I have asked for a direct download for this. I suggest you check to see if this is part of the missing file for you.
