Crash or Bluescreen on launch
HI guys.
I've seen the reports of the 'missing .exe file' thing and tried all those fixes to no avail.
Currently, when I click play in Steam, the game thinks for alomst a minute and then either BlueScreens my PC or just reboots without warning.
It's been doing this all day.
I've deleted everything but the steam.exe and steamapps
I've deleted the AppCache.
I've redownloaded Steam.
I've redownloaded ACM (also tried the force install from disc thing)
I've re-installed the UE3Redist
every other game I have work.
AMD CPU, ATI 7950GPU, 16gb ram and heaps of hardrive space available.
Im at my wits end with this... please someone, anyone...
p.s. the closest I got to the game ever running was seeing the game launch, see the intro movie with the FOX thingy then it locked up and rebooted.

Please help..

If you have problems at launch I wouldnt reinstall everything youll drive yourself crazy.. Just wait a bit. You're farther into the game then I am.. I cant even install.

I found the easiest way to (re) install was just to ignore the disc and install steam from the website and then download ACM via steam.
Having said that, it's still not working so I'm not sure how good a way it is... but using the disc didn't help either.

if you could remember what content appears on the blue screen, it would help.
issues causing blue screen are always the hardware parts, OS, and the drivers.
so also try updating your video card driver. hope this helps.

I might have to look into that as it seems to point out my problem (although it talks about borderlands and not ACM)
It's about the only thing that that I havn't regularly updated... and the bluescreen only happens with ACM launching through steam and not any other game I have.
I'll report back when I've done it incase it helps others.
thanks guys

ok for those of you with this issue.... a BIOS upgrade for AMD motherboards solved the problem and I'm in and playing...
thank you ELDEKA...

I shouldnt have to upgrade my bios to play a game my computer could run back in 2009. This is ridiculous, and bios upgrades can be dangerous.

from my understanding the BIOS thing only works for AMD motherboards and is a known issue. Apparently it's an issue for most Steam games because of the way steam works. So it's more of a Steam thing and not a ACM thing. My motherboard came with ATI monitoring/overclocking/BIOS application that did it safely and easily. Also... My Bios was a year out of date as I'd never looked to update it so it wasn't a bad thing all around.
