Original: A small update for Aliens: Colonial Marines PC should begin rolling out on Steam this afternoon, adding a toggle for the film grain filter and increased security to address cheats and exploits.
The team is continuing to work on updates for all platforms, including the hot fix support mentioned at PAX -- details will come as they're finalized.

GearBox FTL!!!
There was all of 1 actual tweak in this patch. 1. And they couldn`t release it flawlessly. I should have just turnedd off auto update and kept using the Film Grain Remover mod. Not to mention that suspect 4 gig update patch. The 1 where some stuff was added that was decent, but lighting was mostly fuxed up, along with unbalanced A.I..
Course we`re supposed to bow low and kizz all kindz of azz for these paltry offerings. BL2 is getting the real love.
We all should have known this would happen tho. They could have cared less for A CMs, and the state it was released in. And they prolly don`t got the Skillz to fix it.
addendum: GearBox once again placates the peeps whining bout .ini cheats. They locked us ALL out of the .inis. Yes even those of us who just tweaked for better visuals. Thx go out to YOU, YOU whiney little sh*tz sniffling bout cheaters. Now many of us have to play this game in its azztastic visuals state. Imho the game is truly dead now for sure.
they are trying to kill this game and this is how to prove it,
compare the number of people asking for dedicated servers vs the number of people complaing about cheating.
look at the steam graph the game hasnt gotten over 400 people this month. And keeps sinking.... there is hardly anyone playing it, and its because of the broken match making system, not INI tweaks
AAAAAARGH! must watch the blood pressure :-S
I'm been waiting to buy the game when it goes on sale (I'm a fan of the franchise and feel compelled). But at full price or even 50% off, from what I've been reading since launch, I won't find equitable value in the game play experience.
Gearbox reminds me of Hammerpoint (the group responsible for the War Z debacle). The decisions that they are making are so far removed from what the fans want. It is like they have no pr dept whatsoever or something.
Here's what you're gonna need for keeping Graphics-Tweaks, with the new update...
1) A saved copy of your tweaked configs (you should be keeping this archived)
2) The repaired update upon re-release
3) A tire-iron and a strap-on tool...
J/K heheh
