FIXED - will not start on steam deck / windows 11

I cannot get this to run. it says updating executable and then stops. I've tried doing the mod no dice. installed the u3 in redist, no dice. tried -force-d3d9, tried switching proton compatibility layers, or for windows compatibility was changed to windows xp sp3, 7 and 8. tried deleting ACM. exe and recertifying. at this point I'm just using this as a placeholder for all known work arounds so if it does eventually work it can be a go to for the next person...

ok so i went into desktop mode and ensured that forced compatibility for GE-Proton9-13 was selected and did a clean install. I then deleted acm.exe from the local files and started the game through steam, which caused the UE3 redist to run installing the necessary files. i then restored acm.exe, at which point I copied the templar mod and the patch from the moddb website. and deleted from the following directory;
PecanGame\CookedPCConsole\GearboxFramework.upk.uncompressed_size
PecanGame\CookedPCConsole\PecanGame.upk.uncompressed_size
PecanGame\CookedPCConsole\PecanGameHorde.upk.uncompressed_size
PecanGame\CookedPCConsole\Engine.upk.uncompressed_size

Then in Binaries\Win32 changed the original ACM.exe file to _ACM.exe
and changed ACM_Fix.exe to ACM.exe

AFTER THIS I RESTARTED the steam deck. and it rebooted into game mode, in which I then launched the game and the magic happened and it worked. I exited the game, went back into desktop mode and opened PecanGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini
click edit find "teather" and change the word from teather to tether. then save and go back to game mode and boom. AI fixed too.

well its because i got it from github and it suprisingly worked since i got the game to work trust me i dont give people viruses and google would be able to tell if its a virus or not and also i wouldent be sharing this if it was a virus since i would of had it too but looki dont trust anyone here i just want peoples game to work just like mines
and if i had another soulation i would but sadly i dont i kid u not i love these games when i was a kid i mostly played aliens vs predator and aliens marines on my xbox 360 i miss the old mic quality but i can understand u why u dont trust me and i get it atleast its not pirite bay

i heard tht all u need to do is rename your acm.exe to _acm.exe then download acm.exe from github and its not a virus since if it was (I would of had it too and i wouldent mention this to anyone if it was a virus) then once you get it you drag the acm.exe too the directory of your game then verify game files once done launch the game on steam then wait for 2 mins or if you dont want to risk it not working open i think its Ue3redist.exe i think then once done open the game on steam and wait a couple mins and boom done but again if you dont trust me thts ok but its the only way i could of gotten this game working if u do want proof then i can some how put in the video of how to install it but idk where to post it if i do but again if you dont trust me thts a ok i didnt trust anything but i really wanted to play this game since steams crappy drm ruined the games i bought i some how wanted to find a while to make them work and i did but again im a random and i see why u dont trust me but i dont put any virus in my goolge drive people have download stuff tht i sent them and they work perfectly and people were happy so im a nice person and wouldent do a thing like tht but again if you dont trust me cool thts fine just i hope you find a way tht works the best and if you do i will update my discussions post for a more suitable way untill STEAM!!! fixes the issue anyway i hope you best luck on finding a way

and sorry i talk alot lol but the reason why i want to do this is tht people want to play this game and they cant is anoying especcally tht its onsale and the game dosent work sucks so bad and the fact tht i found a way to play this i could of kept this to myself and be happy that i could play it but i want to give this to the others since i want them to be able to play the game thts why they dont need to trust me i just want to make people happy but again some people dont like me because i have smptoms or just the way i act but i always ignore tht and just be a happy person but i do hope steam fixes this issue but sadly they probably wont since they wont do it for a couple of old games tht dont work they will prob just delist the game from steam which sucks because aliens vs predator and alien marines were my childhood games on the xbox 360 along with sonic 06 and section 8

off note aswell when i did play this with the new acm.exe from github i thought the multiplayer wouldent work like it would crash suprisingly it works which im happy about the problem is tht idk if people still able to play this game if they even want to play multiplayer or not

Hey I ended up fixing it and edited my OG post. I do appreciate you trying to help, and didn't want to insinuate you are a bad actor and trying to give people viruses, just being cautious to avoid any calamity by asking for an original link and what exactly I would potentially be downloading. For future, when you want to share the wealth definitely provide the original source so people can choose, and detail what exactly you are trying to share as that will help quell fears. Good on you though, for trying to be helpful Max. We need more people like you. Cheers bro.

I have same problem on Win10. I tried to install TemplarGFX mode and install it. Also copying ACM.exe from github and renaming the previous one to _acm. Now the game launches but for a second and then close.
