So, that Powerloader boss fight...
It's completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken. The enemies all beline towards you and the drones get right behind you to do a ton of damage, your allies are useless and don't do anything to kill them and the boss Xeno can get a cheap, unavoidable grapple attack (Which all Xenos do no matter what) that will kill you instantly once the drones wittle you down. Not only that the drones are constantly running into the loader, making it turn around and impossible to aim towards the boss and even then the claws don't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway to the boss and almost nothing to the drones because no matter what, you'll never be able to hit them in the power loader and it's one of the worst and most broken segments I've ever experienced in my 20 years of gaming. I don't know whether I have to do this in coop or lower the difficulty (Playing on Hardened) but I've been finding it impossible because of how ♥♥♥♥ awful it is and the rest of the game up to that point was actually alright, I can't believe the ball was dropped so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and why this was never fixed. Any tips nonetheless?

I would say I figured it out but the only thing I found to beat the boss was to actually break the boss. You need to trap him near a dumpster which is right behind your allies, meaning you have to circle around the drones constantly spinning you around and hoping the boss doesn't move out in the open before you can get behind it. Then you need to constantly flail your claws at him, hoping he gets knocked into the dumpster and from there he can't do diddly squat. All you need to do now is put up with the Xenos spinning you around (I forgot to mention that they haven't able to kill me, only get my health really low so the boss can insta-kill me with an unfair, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grapple attack) and just whackin' away at him until he dies (You need to do three grapple attacks on him which seem completely at random, and you need to hit him with your claws a LOT, about 3 minutes of whacking on Hardened - I dread to think what UB would be like at this segmeent.).

I don't even know how this boss got through QA because it's really that atrocious and disgusting. Seriously I feel like throwing up with the amount I've been spun around just trying to beat up a Xeno that shouldn't take that long to beat and I have no idea why game developers keep on giving enemies an unfair, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grapple attacks that you can't avoid nor wriggle yourself out of (I'm lookin at you The Evil Within) - it's just lazy design and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, trying to make the game harder in an arbitrary and artificial way where you rely on luck more than skill. I just hope I would never have to use the powerloader ever again in this game because what I saw during that boss fight was horrific.

Admit it Randy from Gearbox, you lied and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up - just admit it.

The core game itself is just fine on Hardened and I imagine it being a bit trickier on UB but it's that one segment, if it wasn't broken beyond all belief then I would have absolutely no issues with the boss, but that constant spinning and unavoidable grapple attack and the claws not doing what they're supposed to; it was pretty much impossible for me to do it legit.

It's not just me then, they don't know their left from their right... right?

Ran it on UB, and I do agree, without players to back me up it took much longer than it should have. I didn't have trouble hitting the darn thing just surviviing the minions.

I sympathise with ya mate, this is pretty sad the state of things. The game isn't any worse than any CoD game released. Though the charaters in A:CM are typically bland.

I agree with you.

First of all: very good game. But this boss fight I have no chance, roughly as if I were a zebra fighting a lion. I think this is the end for me and Alien Colonial Marines. Unfortunately, I can not lower the difficulty level (maybe when I start the mission but I do not feel like it)

Happy to hear you enjoy the game despite that! I beat it two years ago shortly after I made this thread and in the end it turned out I absolutely despise this game.

That really stimulates me!
Now I start the mission again with easy
For such a dung - power loader - there should be an award from Steam

:GoldCross:The rarest achievement is Defeat the Raven in under 1:10 on Soldier difficulty or higher. I managed to get it on the second try :hypestar:

Defeating the Raven is really easy even on Ultimate Bada$$. It's therapeutic even. You already figured out the trick, just gotta keep on hitting the Raven until it glitches through the wall and gets stuck. There's one thing to watch out for. When you grab the Raven with the power loader, it unsticks it from the wall. Immediately after releasing the Raven, resume pounding it right away!

Man I love this game :Upvoter::GoldCross:
