Edited again and going test. Maybe I've forgot in the past to make the file read-only in the attributes. Thanks for sharing back.
P.S. Hilarious how this game is bad in all forms. I can't jump scare playing alone when I was attempting to play in nightmare difficult marine's campaign in AvP 2010. That game btw is 8.0 compared to this 4.0.
When I changed mine, I searched that out on its own in the .ini -- it may very well have multiple instances, but 'read-only' issue is the most likely candidate.
Someday soon, I hope to get a solid 4-man co-op campaign going with players who respect the story experience of a co-op campaign, and can make the playthrough top tier.
My GFX card is ancient and a real bottleneck on what I can run decently/at all.
Even things I can run fine will sometimes be crippled by a missing shader, or other -- and ATI/AMD surely won't be updating the drivers after they literally tried to burn out the line moving to "Crimson".
They built these cards too well, and their attempted digital homicide is still not forgotten.
Should be something like:
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/49540/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Aliens Colonial Marines/PecanGame/Config/PecanEngine.ini
From a terminal, use this command to find it;
find ~/ -name PecanEngine.ini
Its development was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you can thank Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford for it. Go watch “The Tragedy of Aliens: Colonial Marines” by GVMERS on YouTube for a chuckle.
I had to manually update the files on this most recent install, made well within the last 3 months.
The article cited (one of several available) was also written years after the game's release -- so claiming it was patched in any timeframe close to that is objective misinformation from you.
Try speaking some truth for once, weird internet stranger without a clue.
A detailed patchlog says 'no, it is not'.
