I think gearbox is getting cold feet with the new aliens: isolation coming out october 7th, which is made by someone else. I do hope that everyone will support the devs at the game launch and not the pre-orders, I think most can understand not to encourage and give game developers the option to make half made games. But still.. alien: isolation does look like a good horror game, i will be getting it at launch.
Also, alien: isolation is supposed to replace a:cm which was said in a video interview that can be found on youtube, as well as justice, that the fans deserve, hopefully. But then I still want a co - op and team deathmatch game, a multiplayer game... don't know if alien: isolation is going to have it, but still looking forward to it.
A:CM looked good too, then it arrived.
A:CM was supposed to be an Alien game made by hardcore fans of the movie. It was supposed to be the Aliens game we've all been waiting for. This is also available in a youtube interview.
Just saying.
Put it this way, I won't be withholding a pre-order from another company because of GearBox's shenanigans.
Super rare for me to pre order anyway tbh, although I collect Alien stuff a bit so it just looks like a saving of a tenner/whatever for me at this point.
I just wish they weren't messing around with that exclusive rubbish... hate feeling like arm is being twisted.
That's not very fair considering alien: isolation isn't made by randy pitchford or gearbox, there's a chance as I've already had in the back of my mind, that it might not turn out well, but you can't say it won't until you've seen it at launch.
A: CM was made by gearbox, I remember the first magazine and website from sega in 2006 on the aliens: colonial marines, that never got updated, it was unclear as to who was making a:cm at that time, but it was not supposed to be the fans. And note that I said hopefully, meaning I hope that it's the justice, not that it will be for sure.
Oh I won't be pre-ordering either, even know I didn't but not from any other company, check the other forum, borderlands 2 on the borderlands pre-sequel as they call it where I argued with a ton of people about it, I know exactly what you mean, and have for a long time after a:cm first came out.
Yeah I feel like my arm is twisted too.
Although remember that aliens: isolation is going to be made by someone else, I never said to pre-order, only to look into getting it at launch. =)
You never know, it might be a good game, but there are chances it could have the same results, although sega does deserve the money back for support on future aliens games, if we are to get them, from other game developers/companies that might be good at making an aliens or avp game. Hopefully sega will get some profit out of it, after what happend with a:cm and randy pitchford. For future aliens games.
...and whilst playing it, it really wasn't as fun in the light of ACM. Not in floods of nerd tears wringing my nerd hands at my computer or anything, haha, but there's just... something uncomfortable about cheesy, pleased-with-itself humour from someone who you feel has been a bit shady.
It might help forget it if some voiced character or in game text didn't say the word "badass" every 30 seconds, heh.
But then they make things worse by making the australian voiced borderlands pre-sequel which is coming out.
If humour is your thing in most games, that's fine, but don't encourage gearbox after what they did to the aliens fans, by buying their games, that's like being 2 faced and sheeping the situation.
Btw, gearbox used an artists art work to create the ideas of the borderlands series, and apologized to the artists, but yet... can't apologize to the aliens fans. They are also having 2k games help them with all the borderlands series, which means gearbox isn't a real developer, gearbox are just users, con artists, and scammers. They don't care about the aliens fans at all, don't care about their games when they don't give a flying flip about you. They pretty much gave you the finger as an aliens fan, when they started to make the borderlands series.
Also.. just like with left 4 dead 1 and 2, zombies are better in horror games that are scary, left 4 dead got old fast and the commedy humour of running zombies was nothing more than nonesense, to me it also feels like they are laughing at the gamers/fans. The left 4 dead series was made for trolls.. this is true.. but that's besides the point.
I just feel the same way about a game made out of humour like borderlands, along with the immature language used in it, that's no reason to play a game, that's honorless and no self respect or respect for others. Not only that, but because of what they did to the aliens fans, I won't ever trust gearbox or support them, or even buy another game from them again.
And also by what I meant, I like my games taken seriously when developed, not humorous, if I wanted humour, I would buy a game with it, not expected to be forced to buy it with humour and call it good just because of gearbox doing what they did. If you see what I mean.
And not only that, I will absolutely not sink that low as to try the game out. Especially after learning lately even more about gearbox in how they half developed most if not all of their games with another company helping them mostly, and using other people's artwork, along with what they did to the aliens fans, all together, gearbox is a fake fraud garbage game developing company.
we couldnt they release the source code....this game could have 500 MP maps by now..
Yeah but they were both right, and because of the fact that gearbox handed the rest over to timegate studios, was a disrespectful moment, and a slap in the face to aliens fans.
Why wouldn't they release the source code? Because they are nothing but petty jerk con artists, complete scammers, that want everything for themselves. Probably also so that they can show their children one day the work they did, or they already have, and they can't go back on their word when their families believe they made it, by handing over the source code, that would be going back on their word to their families.
But I believe honorably the right choice would be to release the source code for everyone.
Either that, or some game company should fix it.
Of course, obviously, it's because randy pitchford and gearbox go for what gearbox likes, they don't care about aliens, they only care about their own ideas, like the borderlands series, and they also use other game companies to help them with alot of their work, as they can't make a full game by themselves without help, and they've used other artwork from other artists they found on websites. Then they turn around and scam everyone out of their money at full price that don't have the games. Gearbox just simply needs taken down.
The demo video preview was too inspiring, and had a greater purpose for the story idea, along with the obvious everything else in the demo video preview. That's why it should be more like that.
