Worth buying?

Is this game still worth buying with the Templargfx mod? I'm mostly getting it for singleplayer maybe coop

not worth buying at all honesty for a lot of reasons these guys are not really being forward about


Think about you are just going to get a game and have a hard time finding anyone to play that won't take the game seriously and get all angry and ticked off at you for wanting to do your own thing.


You get the game you play it without the mod and think hmm.. lets try with the mod

and notice only there is a slight difference the behavior and attack patterns of the xenos

they changed how they move around but once you get use to the patterns you'll be once again finding yourself feeling the same way you did when you first played and beat the game you are proud you got through it and all but the mods don't do anything


as in adding content such as changing the entire game play

Nothing such as you can use the lifter to smack around and throw the xeno into the walls or pick it up and throw it etc.

No armored APC driving etc


No having to hunt an alien queen can't just take out a entire hive with explosives and move on


this would be great for a bug hunt option adding in traveling to different planets removing a xeno hive etc


the devs that made this game were just lazy and painfully stupid
they only wanted the money nothing else thus why they didn't bother patching the game to make it the way it should have been.

The original classic arcade aliens was more fun than this even the AvP series was more enjoyable still is actually.


When you want to play Co-op do not join groups as you'll find out just how many narcissist spread their toxicity around and get annoyed with other's who don't have the same bull spit narcissist in denial thing going on they like this game cause they take it seriously

and they pretend they are hardcore killers and think they are doing something out of full metal jacket.


The game is a miss they say yes to this cause they are either easily amused by everything and that is fine.


But if you want a game that isn't going to give a bit of a ok this is awesome.. yeah

then later on you are going to just feel that you could have spent the money and time on something that isn't bland and makes you not want to play it and beat it again.


cause bug hunt and all is only MP and you won't find anyone randomly that quick

if you wanna spend 15 - 30mins almost waiting for someone to randomly join maybe?

the game is dead pretty much there's maybe 10 - 12+ players left depending on the time zone




Don't waste your money on this game you are better off getting a game that has actual players in it and doesn't have a bunch of narcissist who pretend the game
is all that and can't even be honest about things


some of the negative reviews are actually spot on and some of those who posted their thoughts and saying this game is dead n boring etc are being honest.

Do not get this game just cause a few say yes

they just want more people to join so they can have a reason to get more people to play cause people get the game they play they get bored of it and leave

the only reason they are saying yes cause they don't want to be alone attachment issues
and being clingy grow up people geez.


The only reasons they say yes is to lure you into their bull crap


I got 10 hours of game time and i beat this game in that time and i was reviewing this game and it was a mess in those 10hours.

It doesn't take that long to beat.

the ending was a complete let down not even at all that good of a way to end the game

And you find an original marine from the movie aliens that died with ripley and neut or whatever after she kicked out the queen.

The ending is nothing more than you running back and forth like a ratt in a maze while avoiding the queen you don't really actually get to fight the queen..


Go look at the game play in youtube.

and tell me that doesn't look boring

they could have made this game a lot better but they didn't

You don't really feel like you are playing an aliens game in some parts.

you don't get to actually keep the smart gun like you would in the original aliens PC games

no once you run out that is it pretty stupid and the smart gun does not even feel like its a smart gun

yeah it does auto aim for you and they used the same rounds 10mm rounds for the smart gun when it should be a more powerful round and it does not even sound like the smart gun either.

I love it, so my version is heavily modded and using updated textures and reshade custom settings so.. i like it. Actually there is no other or better USCM experience on this planet.

When this game out I was a store manager for GameStop. We pushed the HELL out of this game. So many pre-orders.. "it's the guys from Borderlands". Years later, my friends still give me hell over this game. I've tried to play through it just on principle.. It's trash.

i started a war when i just wanted to know if the single player experience was worth it on a sale since ive played classic 2000 avp 2 and 2010 and looking for a thing to waste my time on for an afternoon lol

Yes it is worth buying, Gearbox may have left it broken and bugged, but for a "true" Aliens fan it's very faithful to its source material and one of the best experiences of playing as colonial marines.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion on A:CM, some love it and some don't, but people should play it first with a clear outlook and decide for themselves. TemplarGFX's overhaul mod DOES improve the game drastically and fixes many of the original issues with the vanilla game. Templar has put a lot of time and effort into fixing Gearboxes mess and still continues as we speak. Version 6 is in development and thanks to some recent discoveries, 4 typos, not 1, displace off, which fixes the Xeno A.I. and more, it's getting closer to being the game we were promised.

Get it in a sale, the games not worth the asking price. It does go on sale fairly often. Stasis Interrupted is better than the main campaign for single player story. Be sure to buy the Bughunt DLC.

bought ACM last week and just finish the main campaign few minutes ago. I got to thanks Alien Isolation for giving me back the Alien itch. Rewatch Aliens at netflix & bought the game when steam sale start. Install the mod got some issue with random hard lock fixed by lowering the graphic setting & known issue regarding mission when use of turret i'm impress with the mod. good job. Story wise i really like it but slightly disappointed with the cliffhanger ending will go through the dlc story next. fighting along side other ai even though they are invincible feels i'm part of bad ass space marine. chance to visit some familar places from the movie. Can't wait to try some co-op or multi in future if i can find some like minded buddies. So if you still on the fence about this game i say go ahead i highly recommend it.

Yeah i think you could argue that. I really wish Gearbox or Sega would sort this fubar out and re-release ACM updated with all gamespy junk ripped out DX11 updated graphics and proper mod support with matchmaking finally working. If they did a good job of it it'd even restore some of Randy's non existent credibility.

For the £5 they want for it... it's not bad... Though considering they only want £3 for Bulletstorm (Also published through Gearbox and an infinitely better game), is a tad rough..

The Campaign experience as Z movie bad. MP can be dodgy because of the lack of players. Though there is STILL a couple of very dedicated player groups about ..

THAT is unarguably the best one.

This will also help you get some other people together for MP matches and BUG HUNT, ACMs Co-Op mode, that can be played 1UP - 4UP.

it's not perfect, it IS a bit naff... But for the money it's the best Aliens you're going to get aside forking out for Isolation or SPACE BEAST TERROR FRIGHT (which is undoubtedly the BEST Aliens game never made).

YES, because the patches correct everything it had wrong at the beginning, and also because is really inmersive for the Alien universe.
