However it isn't the easiest mode if you aren't prepared for it.
It's not too bad if you know a bit about how Disgaea 2 works. The thing is that you face the sort of threats that would normally appear quite late game. So things like clone geo effects, or powerful monster types. I mean you have to deal with a dragon in the first fight, and a rifle demon shows up in the training map right after that. There's even Game Over geo effects which is normally dark world only!
So really it just doesn't pull any punchs. I found it quite doable having beaten the game back on PS2. It was also quite fun getting all those monster classes early enough for them to be useful (Wood Golems in 2-4!!!!)
There's a good reason you aren't supposed to play it first.
