For your information, sometimes the game just hangs (black screen and not responding in task manager) and sometimes it completely crashes.
Another interesting note is that when the game is not responding, with black screen, memory usage in taskmanager keeps going up from around 3.900MB. Atm 5.800MB and climbing.
Thx and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the advice, i have been doing exactly that and sometimes more often, but since i dont die every mission, i don-t try them all. Turns out that now, the last file that works, is going back 4 hours of gameplay!

I have since restarted from an earlier save and gotten further than i was at that point. Should it happen again i will do so.
Cheers

Several savegames crashing the game. Earlier savegames work fine.
I'm getting a graphics driver crash while it happens. Yes, my drivers are up to date.
Vanilla game, no mods installed.
The output_log seems to indicate that we're not looking at a graphics issue per se, but rather the object causing the effects.circle not being saved or handled properly:
output_log:
none present.
It was using 11,000 MB of Ram on my System more than a year ago.
Probably using more now that it has been patched several times since then.
Yes, you need at minimum 16gb ram to run it smooth. The game is very hungry ;) but hardware is not always the reason for such behavior, like as Ruby said send a log if that save crash happens
I've gotten to the point where I'm seriously considering not buying any game that uses Unity.
However, this thread is about savegames failing to load.
I'd be happy to +1 any new thread on the insane memory consumption, but this particular crash has different reasons.
So please - new thread for that. Thanks!
Game still makes the sound when you click or hover over an option, but you can't interact with the game anymore.
If you check task manager, there's a Unity error process under the header of the game's process.
