Police Quest 1 locker room code?
Hello, I just wanted to ask you how would I open the locker room if I couldn´t google the code 269? I´ve checked the PQ1 manuals and for 1st part there are just some ticket_codes. I wasnt able to find the one that matches.
Thanks for clearing this out for me :)

With the original boxed version you got a "newspapper" with it. The Gazette has an article about the football game and the result of the game is the same as the locker combination. It gives you this hint when you try to open the locker. It's part of Sierras old school copyprotection. Sadly the Gazette doesn't seem to be included in the PQ Collection Manuals folder.

I see, thanks for explanation. I guess Sierra should correct this and include the newspaper as well...

Apparently GOG included it

Not sure why Valve didn't bother
Probably expecting everyone to allow GOG to access their Steam library (you can get DRM free versions of some of your Steam games this way but I'm not sure I want GOG knowing my $teamy business)

Normally you could find those old manuals & novelties on abandonedware sites but once GOGed, GOG tends to claim entitlement to the instructions as well thus abandoneware sites complying with GOG and removing the material from their site.

This is stupid. To not include the original copy protection is out of order. Can we have that sorted please?

!!! SPOILER FOR THOSE STILL LOST !!!

DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU WANT TO FIND IT YOURSELF!

It's 269.

Just Purchased this game and was dissapointed that the Copy Protection PDF was not included, thus renering the game unplayable.. Why has this been left out of the document folder?
Its like selling a car and without a starter motor, you can sit in it and play with a few buttons but cant actually go amywhere...

GoG is perfectly trustworthy. They work FAR harder than publishers on steam do to keep old games up to date and working on modern operating systems.

Just made thread about this. Got the Sierra Humble Bundle, and been running into issues with Police Quest and King's Quest games with the old-school copy-protection. Think there was some in the Space Quest and Quest for Glory games too. Was hoping somebody might know of a patch that can remove the copy-protections. :steamsad:

I'd like to thank this bundle for making me feel like I pirated it even though I actually paid for it.

Really ruined the fun for me. Very first puzzle and I already had to google. What a turnoff.

Couldn't find the gazzette anywhere in game and I was pissed off so brute forced my way to 269.... thats 269 unnecessary mouse clicks.... this should be fixed.

GUYS FROM STEAM: please include all the game needed documentation with the download, for God's sake. If not it is a faulty product.
It's not Steam's fault, it's Sierra's. They are the ones responsible for the content of the game. Who knows why they posted the required documents on that website and did not include them in their actual game. Copy protection my foot. The game comes with a PDF that is a single page from that gazette instead of the whole gazette.
