Difficulty/challange
The game definietely looks interesting - but how is the difficulty of the game?

I'm looking for some challenge tho - are there any challenges where you are running out of funds or have other disasters - or it's rather a chill casual type of game?

Now it's unlikely that'll manifest into significant changes to the core game as it exists now, which is, as mentioned, aimed towards a more casual audience, and it was critical for the game's future we had that in place first.

What might come of it is an alternate mode or something to that effect which will take what we have and tune it very differently. . We certainly have a lot of levers we can pull to adjust a lot of how things are tuned that could make a pretty compelling experience for those inclined more towards a challenge.

It's too early to speak on what the exact shape of that might be but it's certainly on our minds.

I'd love to know this as well.

Management games where you drown in money whatever you do get boring real fast in my opinion.

I don't think that I could complete it now. I was only able to beat the game once, as a child. More than 20 years have passed. At the same time, I started the game many times and played for hours in each of the first 3 hospitals, but rarely went beyond it, first 3 somewhat challenging. At level 4, hell and bankruptcy began for me, so I often start from first one, for fun. By the way, in my full complition run, I played on PSone, and that time I didn't know you could add additional items to rooms, like bebs or sofas. Imagine completing the game when you have only one hospital bed in your hospital room (which is big af, and always, before I somehow know this "secret", wondered why is it). I completed the game with one bed per hospital room, in all lvls.

So i Played 2 first lvls in this game. Money flowing in your hospital like a river. Not so hard by now.

I'm through seven chapters. It's not terribly difficult. You can go below zero credits and bounce back pretty easily. Haven't had any patients die after the first level where I was still getting in touch with everything. It does get a bit more challenging when you get more rooms as you need to only build the rooms you absolutely need, and then expand to get everything else. That said, even though it doesn't feel difficult, it's been fun listening to the banter of the characters and designing an efficient hospital.

I concur. Especially with Sandbox being my favourite game mode, spicy challenges in gameplay help negate repetitive scenarios.

There is zero difficulty unless you are really new to this genre.

If you want difficulty/challenge in this genre of game, play RimWorld and Song of Syx

I have played a bit and the difficulty is on the lower side. Getting 5 stars basically comes down to how many patients per X amount of time you can cure. There are other metrics too but this is always the last one to tick off since it is rather high.

Money wise, haven't gotten in the red yet and I end up with a lot of cash to spare. Putting the money amplifier upgrades in treatment rooms REALLY boosts the income.

Completing the story it´s pretty casual. Achieving 5 stars in every hospital takes more time (mostly cause the conditions are never fully explained and some of the conditions are hard to get on depending what maps) but I wouldn´t say it´s challenging, rather just time consuming as you wait for your doctors to level up and get the money to fill every corner of the hospital with furniture. The challenge mode however many are pointing out it goes way overboard and suddenly gets pretty challenging.

So it seems there´s no middle ground. Personally I think the reason way many see it as very casual it´s because money doesn´t become a problem, at least as far as I can tell on mission 6. You don´t really need to wait up for extra money to build a new threatment room, you generally have the money to build it very earlier, although that works for the game since unlike Two Point Hospital in here you will get all possible diseases from the first patients rather than gradually, only new introduced diseases will come in turns, and then emergencies on waves.

If you compare it to Two Point Hospital it´s def more easy, but I think "casual" it´s not accurate. Casual would imply there´s no losing quests or failing, that you can´t get the hospital completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, that RNG isn´t there to step in your way or that space limitation isn´t a thing on each map. Certainly other management games boost those compare to this, but still there´s some though requiere to deal with some of the quests and emergencies.

The poster above has replied but I'll also mention. Since this post we released Challenge Mode which drastically increases the tension points of the game.

We're still soliciting feedback on it, and there's some opinions amongst the community that it's actually too challenging, you certainly can't slouch if you want to win in that difficulty mode.

Still taking feedback on all of this. I wouldn't mind exploring even more options or even custom options if there's enough interest from the community that I can swing it with the creative director.

Maybe it´s just me, but I would like to know of the people claiming it´s casual which ones have achieve 5 star hospitals and on how many maps. Again, maybe it´s just me, maybe I´m not balancing something well, but while completing the story mode of each map I have played so far seems indeed easy in the sense that at most you just need to have patience for your doctors to deal with the waves or build aditional rooms of one kind for specific quests.

But reaching 5 stars though, that I feel can be quite challenging, not super challenging, but it doesn´t come naturally unless you go for it. On map 4 I´m stuck at 4,3-4,5, my performance it´s too low so seems my only option it´s to wait on doctors to level up or waiting for Baz RNG bless me with the faster threatment upgrades. And on map 6 (which is lovely map and quest, really enjoyed it) I was at 4,9 right before completing the level, then my quotes on lazer surgery have gone mad and I have a stuck patience that I keep kikcing but he won´t move and he´s dragging the whole ratio with his complains about waiting, eating, bathroom... everything, even though it´s all close to him, he´s just stuck there.

I am close to get 5 stars on hard on 15 levels, and yea, getting that 5th star is taking a lot of time, to a point where it isn't fun, but I'm also not that good in this game either.

What I like to do is, I get about 10-20 docots trained up to lvl 5 before I open my hospital (I only get doctors which have the 4 seconds quicker treatment upgrade).
So while my doctors are training, I generate money with the money artefact and my hopsital isnt even open.
Then I go afk for an hour or so.

What I also do is, I duplicate my artefacts with a glitch, so I can use the Stone artefact to be able to place smaller rooms everywhere. Because doing it legitiment, I can't place down enough rooms without rebuilding some, when necessery.

The last star for me is alsways getting the finances to be green, and that usually just takes time, while I have the patient tap open, send all low HP patient to the revocery room, priorities my mutants and if there is a patient with red HP, I use a healing potion on him. Sometimes I also need an energy drink, because I getting another lvl5 Doc takes a lot of time and I just hope for a clone device.

I also like to not research to much of the mutations, because I don't need to swap prioritizing rooms for my mutants. They also give good income. But another player who is better then me, means that he goes for research, because those breaks inbetween mutations are quite benefitial.

For the Upgrades I like to put the Money Upgrade at the diagnosis room, and the quick treatment Upgrade is nice overall. Getting your teleportation pads is somewhat required, otherwise your patients will waste too much time and lose a lot of HP while wasting time.

My dude, for someone who says they are not good at the game, you seem to have broken it already hahahaha

Yeah finances and performance seem to be the general chockepoints for everyone for that sweet 5 star rating. Generally I go for quick treatment upgrade on diagnosis and heavy traffic rooms like skin lab, and yeah, just like you full on money upgrade for anything else so I dont have issues with the money requierements for 5 stars.

Like I said, it´s not a super hard management game, but the 5 stars requiere some though and really thinking about maximizing the limited space. It´s a shame previous 5 started maps can´t be replay normally due to I pressume a bug that makes illness from more advanced maps to suddenly start appear, today I went on the 1st map and they were asking me for rooms on level 7, still I find it a really good one, the fact it´s not super demanding means I can something leave the game just play itself for a while and have doctors level up. I haven´t finish the game yet and I´m already excited for more content if it comes.
